Just returned from two weeks at Camp Olowalu in Maui and it was wonderful. We stayed in the tentalows (so technically we were "glamping" and not "camping") but it was an excellent choice. The camp is clean and the washrooms are the cleanest I've ever...More
We were here the last of January. Nice people, great sunset and sunrise. Clean, nice showers and bathrooms but that's where it ends. The location for tent camping was far from comfortable. You are surrounded by dead trees that grow thorns, these thorn branches are...More
What a place! The setting is romantic, and the campground comes to feel like a real home away from home, and a hobbit village! The coral reefs just offshore are really great snorkeling, and the weather is warm and in the wind shadow so the...More

We had no problems with security at all. In fact, I often left my camera gear in the tentalow. We regularly left our laptop and tablets in the tentalow. Nothing was ever touched and never saw any evidence that anyone had been in our tent when we were out. I don't think there were any long term/permanent campers there. The tent camping is right beside the ocean and often at night we would go for a walk and most weekday evenings it was vacant except campers who we knew were with the camp.
Felt very safe the whole two weeks we stayed!
