We liked location directly on the beach, hotel upgraded us to the ocean view studio. Pool was good size and clean. However. room services are very limited, we only had room cleaned once during the whole week, while we were there. I had to ask for every item all the time: tea kettle, fresh towels, coffee, cream and sugar, shampoo, lotion, toilet paper, you name it. I understand while some clients do not care, we actually did. Housekeepers could come when room was empty. Pool side lacking the pool towels; we had to go to the front desk to request new towels. There is no shade at the beach, and everything is there for rent for extra money. Internet is super slow and poor. We did not like cafe in terms of food choice, quality, and prices. Activity desk gave us not the best suggestions in terms of Luau. Other than that, place is lovely, rooms are big with a nice view, parking might be a problem if you come late. …
This is the best place to stay in Maui. Accidentally reserved a hotel room when we usually stay in a garden-view but it was very nice too. Recommend this place to all my friends who want to go to Hawaii. We'd love to retire here one day.
Front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Both pool areas are very pretty. We loved the easy beach access. Beach towels are provided at check in so leave yours home. We stayed in the Banyon building in a one-bedroom king bed unit where the bedroom is up a set of stairs with a separate bathroom. The condo was clean and well equipped although a bit dated. Bed was very comfortable. We ate many meals at the on-site restaurant. Highly recommend the Hawaiian pancakes for breakfast and the pork nachos with a "Red Lava" for happy hour. Overall, we loved it and will stay here again! Few things to keep in mind: - No elevators so if carrying luggage up a flight of stairs is an issue for you, may want to ask for a ground level room. - We arrived after dark the first night and the complex is not well lit at night. Have your phone flashlight handy.…
Highly recommend. From the property grounds to the decor of the common areas, villa and staff, we loved it all! Also, Castaway Cafe was our favorite restaurant to eat with unsurpassable views of swaying palms and the Pacific.
We traveled with a family group of ten, including four children under 15. The condos were well equipped with very nice kitchens, comfortable beds, and clean upscale bathrooms. the beach and ocean just steps away and a really gorgeous pool right outside our doors. There is a small cafe facing the beach. Pretty good food and drinks. Perfect location. Lots for kids to do.
I would highly recommend! The beach is beautiful, the spa was amazing, and the room was very comfortable. Close to shopping a lots of good restaurants, I would recommend renting a car to get around. Great stay!
The Maui Villas was a lovely spot, centrally located on Kaanapali beach. Take advantage of the on-site travel excursion booking agent. She was able to get me a reservation on a sunset sail with very short notice. Thank you! Enjoy the complimentary trolley service to Whalers Village (runs all day) or walk the mile along the beach path.
Service is good depending on who is at the front desk. I had to lower the scores of the staff service and friendliness due to one front desk employee needing serious courses in classroom management. I was unable to catch his name, but he works the evening shift and wore his hair in a ponytail. He doesn’t smile, and really has a “doesn’t really care” attitude on whether or not guests’ needs are being met. We had specifically requested a quiet room prior to arrival, and he said it wasn’t in the computer, and gave us a loud room right by the highway. We asked if there was a microwave in the basic hotel room and he said no. (There was). Had we had known this, we would have done grocery shopping very differently. Upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready. We asked if there might be a fridge where we could place a few cold items so that we could get shopping out of the way so that we could enjoy the island. He said no. We found out later that there was after changing rooms the following day, and receiving exceptional service from a young woman who was able to switch rooms for us whose name I didn’t catch, and a friendly man named Joe. But since we did not know this initially, we felt like we waited around and lost a day. The same ponytail man did not tell us there’s welcome Mai Tais and such every Wednesday either. We found this out later when it was too late. I had to get new towels, and was ignored for a few minutes while he socialized in the back. Quite frankly, whenever that man was up front, the service, attentiveness, and all over friendliness was absent. …
A very fine hotel at a beautiful beach Short distance by car to interesting places, shopping and restaurants. We had rented an appartment which was very well equipped and functioning. Staff overall very nice and service-minded.
We always stay here every time. The manager was very accommodating in finding the type of room we requested. It took some effort ahead of time but we were very pleased with our stay. The room was even better than the ones we had on previous trips!
