I stayed here on a meditation retreat. Overall the experience as good. However, for the price there were a few things I was disappointed with. My bathroom shower had an ant problem for the duration of my stay and it was not addressed when my room was cleaned like requested. The pool area was cleaned due to our requests, not on a regular basis as needed. Items around the resort need updating, like outdoor cushions and some chairs. Breakfast daily was included in our stay, but it again did not meet expectations. It was the same food 6 days in a row. Overall, still a great stay, just didn't meet my expectations for the price I paid to stay there.
This place is special. The classes they offer are outstanding. The caliber of teachers was top notch. They explained their classes very well, they were suited from novice to advance. The grounds were beautiful and the building is a 1920s wooden building with a rich history. Each morning I would do the 8 am yoga class. Then my husband and I would head over to the dining area to order breakfast and enjoy alfresco dining. The food was good, eggs, bacon, steel cut oats, toast and fresh fruit. Also, the coffee was great. It was nice to sit in the jaccuzzi, or hammocks or in the beautiful lobby. This a great place to come to heal and be nurtured.
Loved our stay at Lumeria! Perfect blend of lush gardens, beautifully furnished rooms and very comfortable beds…great sleep. We especially enjoyed the garden facing wrap-around veranda, featuring comfortable day beds, an opportunity to plug in while surrounded by the breathtaking greenery. The daily breakfast was another great welcome, as was the excellent qi gong class taught by Courtney Alex, a highly knowledgeable instructor. Lumeria is a serene blend of beauty and calm. Highly recommend.
Lumeria, at first, looks like a beautiful property. The landscape around the property is lovely, lush, and well maintained. However, after staying at Lumeria for 4-days, this was my experience. The walls are paper-thin, and you can hear everything, so much so it sounds like your neighbors are in your room. Lumeria promotes itself as a wellness space, and the breakfast was everything but that. Each day, it was eggs and bacon, creamer for coffee, no substitutes, and nothing remotely healthy. The staff, while nice, did not appear to have a clue about any of the classes offered, massages and so on. The property has so much potential with its beautiful grounds and location, but everything else was 1 star. Especially how the property sells the experience of Lumeria.
In Makawao Maui, Lumeria is a hidden gem for travelers seeking a clean relaxing place to stay. Driving up a simple country road, my husband and I pulled up to large steel gates that opened dramatically into an sleek, blossoming estate with gorgeous blooming plants and fountains with running water. Everything and everyone there suddenly found themselves taking their stress levels down a few notches and gel with the powerful serenity that seemed to infuse all of us there. I loved the exquisite aesthetics fused with the natural surroundings. Simplistic yet exquisite objects were artfully placed around the property giving the guest the feeling that less was truly more. For years I have not slept as well as I have when I shut my eyes that night at Lumeria. In the morning, we woke up to a delicious breakfast of fresh fruits, wholesome oatmeal; also, yoga was included to rejuvenate and reinvigorate us. Coming to Lumeria was like discovering a priceless pearl in an unopened oyster shell found in the uncharted waters of the ocean. If I ever get the chance, I’d love to come here again.…
