Kind of off the beaten path away from Honolulu. Some people have mentioned that it seems to be in a sketchy area but we had no issues or any fears. The grills on location were in excellent condition and worked flawlessly.

The waves at the beach were a little rough near the bea

My first impression I was a little disappointed because of the location. The area does have a lot of homeless in the area. Not a huge a concern..The resort is gated with 24 your security. We arrived two hours early and were allowed to check in. Our unit was on the 3rd floor. The

Very simple lodgings located right on Makaha Beach. It is very laidback and is very secure with parking areas and methods to use elevator. Price is reasonable with access to small washer and dryer in the unit. Can't wait to go back.

What a pleasant surprise to find our unit on the 15th floor, unit 1503. It was very nicely furnished and supplied with everything we could possibly need. The decor seemed fairly new, tile flooring was very nice but carpeting in bedrooms was a bit worn. It had a beautiful lanai wi

Did you find that there were easier reduced traffic hours to drive between Waikiki and Waianae? Also, thank you so much for choosing to stay at my beachside condo #805 at the Hawaiian Princess and for your kind words. I'm looking forward to having you and your family as my guests again. Also, thank you for the island tips you wrote about in my guest book in the condo. I'm glad you were able to return to your old stomping ground in Waianae and you were a lovely considerate guest. ... Andrea Larson
Andrea, Loved the condo and all the resort offered. One week was not enough. A month or longer would have been great. The best time we found for travel between Waikiki and Waianae were mid morning to early afternoon. Traffic going from Waianae was one lane starting around 3 PM as I recall and that added a third lane for the rush hour traffic coming into the Waianae area. Early morning or late evening are also good travel times in either direction. Tom Doyle

are there any fine dining restaurants in the area
NO fine dining. This is a area that is more "local" than tourist. Just going to the grocery store people will stare because you are "not from there". Some visitor's are a little afraid of the area but if you are used to living with locals than it's ok but some people do have issues with the homeless. The resort itself is gated.

Can we check in late at night. Our flight gets in at approx. 5:30pm.
Yes you can. There is a Security Person available on-site, to let you in the security gate, and to give you keys to your suite. You can complete Check-In in the Office in the morning. The staff is the greatest.

What kind of transportation can we get from the airport to the resort without renting a car?
If you have a friend on the Island you can call them for a ride. After that the bus service is pretty good here. 5 minute bus ride to shop or local eat outs which is quite good IMO
