I went just for an overnight. My room was I think the first, closest to the office. I'm still having a problem with bugs. I don't know if they're bed bugs. I do know they are nocturnal, bite, crawl, travel in numbers. I have had Terminex in twice and am going to again. The only place I stay was Bartons....

I love Bar Harbor and usually go yearly and this was the first time I stayed at Barton's motel and cottages. I arrived before official check in time but was still able to get the key to my room and get settled. After I returned from a trip to town I checked in and got a few tips and the...

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage. It was clean and roomy, though the bathroom was a bit tight. Nice to have a kitchen and a porch. Traffic sound was a bit noisy, though it was quiet later in the evening. Maybe next time I'll pick a cottage farther away from the road. Quick drive to Bar Harbor or Acadia...

This is a clean friendly comfortable fairly basic motel, with laundry facilities, a life saver for us! Wifi was good. Only slight criticism is that it is very near road and can be noisy.however for the money you can't have everything!

Terry, the owner/manager was very friendly and helpful, and recommended places to eat and visit nearby. The bed was comfortable, and there was indoor plumbing. Unfortunately, that's the only list of positives I can come up with. The carpet was stained and dirty: I was afraid to walk barefoot on it, the windowsills weren't dusted, dead bug in the bathroom...

You get what you pay for and well... I didnt pay much! $62 bucks to spend the night close to Bar Harbor, I felt was a deal. expect no frills. There is ice and there is a grill outside if you wish to use it. other than that its just an inexpensive place to rest your head.

Cabin - Not worth the rate they charged. Beds were not comfortable and old. One small air conditioner that did not cool the whole cabin. No extra pillows, old and outdated decor. Bathroom was tiny and the toilet had issues. Did not flush well and even had to be fixed as the chain fell off the handle. However, it was...

Stayed there in August. It is in a good location and the room is relatively clean. However, my vision is not as good as I was young. Although I spent over half hour to chase and kill the mosquitoes in the room in the night, I still found three fat mosquitoes in the morning and my boy was bitten by...

We felt this place was a great deal. It was really affordable, had a comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower and was clean, what I want in a basic hotel stay. Also, Terry at the front desk was fantastic. He was full of great pointers and recommended some places to go as it was our first time to...

Barton's Motel is something of a throwback to the early 60s, reminding me of trips with my parents. Whatever nostalgia my wife or I might have felt was quickly dissipated by the overwhelming chemical smell of bleach that pervaded our room, which seemed to come from the linens that reeked of whatever detergent they had been washed with. My wife's...
