Thiswas an inn to our liking – décor tasteful, rooms very well appointed. Nice discussions with other guests with appetizers before dinner. Unfortunately we wanted to go whale watching in the morning. The boat left at 8.30 am. Breakfast was only served after 8.00 am and they couldn’t or wouldn’t open the dining room earlier. So all we could get... More

This is a very nice, larger B&B with reasonable prices. Outstanding is their breakfasts. The owner is a fantastic cook. There are two options for your main dish, plus a fruit dish and a bread. They are gourmet. The room we stayed in was large and mostly nice, but the only table was very small and not too steady and... More

If your over 6 ft tall don't bother staying on the 3rd floor, in the attic. Low ceilings are a problem. One other annoying feature: air conditioning only in the bedroom, not in the hall ways. Overall the hotel has nice features, location, access to nearby pool, great breakfast and nice staff. Room was adequate and well you get what... More

On arrival, light refreshments in the lounge encouraged a relaxing settling-in after the day's travel, giving a chance to mingle with other guests and a chance for hostess Anne to gently guide us as to which of several local restaurants might suit us (we enjoyed Galyn's). Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts also had an individual touch. One of... More

We have been coming to Bar Harbor and the Cleftstone every September for more than 10 years. The ambiance is exquisite and the Innkeepers go overboard to make our stay special. Breakfasts are exceptional and the afternoon appetizers delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will be coming back again & again.

Room was clean and quiet, bathroom was a decent size, close proximity to Acadia entrance, breakfast was a OK (we prefer it a bit simpler), we did like that we could sit at our own table, employees were very helpful, easy in and out parking, wonderful Inn history, road noise was minimal and we would def. stay here again.

I was going to really rip this place, but I think I know the best way to convey my thoughts on this place. - if you're under 50, I would not recommend it. The location is great, the breakfast was passable, but the house was gross. It is a nice historic house that has been inundated with old wallpaper and... More

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay. Breakfast was outstanding, so much so that we found ourselves just snacking mid-afternoon and not really needing a big dinner! Hosts were very personable and took time to talk to us about the area and hiking. This was a perfect base of operations and we didn't mind being away from downtown - you... More

We had planned to stay at this bed and breakfast for three nights, but ended up only staying one night due to my husband having trouble sleeping. We could hear a lot of traffic noise in our Joseph Pultizer Room, plus due to the room's location near the kitchen, the noise made during the preparation of breakfast also prevented us... More
