We stayed at the Heatwood for two nights. We were travelling with another couple and in winter Karen only keeps two rooms open so we had the parlour to ourselves, which was lovely! The Inn is comfortable, the food is delicious and Karen was a sweetheart! Do not hesitate to visit the Bar Harbour area in winter. There are hiking...

On Dec. 6th we ended a wonderful three day stay at the quaint and charming Heathwood Inn in Bar Harbor. The innkeeper Karen is a fantastic cook and a very warm and hospitable lady. She was also a wealth of local information regarding activities, restuarants, etc. The inn is gorgeous, pristine and it's the perfect distance from downtown Bar Harbor...

If you ever wanted a home away from home, you will find it at the Heathwood Inn. The rooms are warm and inviting. Sitting in the parlor for breakfast and having conversations with the other guests was like something out to Norman Rockwell's Saturday Evening Post. Karen is a wonder Innkeeper and cook too!!! I know we will stay there...

My fiancee liked the Heathwood Inn. But we did have some issues with it. First, the location wasn't that great. Exploring Bar Harbor is a big part of visiting Mt. Desert Island, and we discovered that you should really stay in Bar Harbor proper to really enjoy it. The Heathwood Inn is several miles out -- convenient for driving but...

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in a very warm and comfortable room (Hunters Brook) at Heathwood Inn. We would DEFINITELY return when staying in Bar Harbor. Karen's suggestions on what to see and where to go for dinner were excellent. The home is well appointed and Karen really makes you feel at home. We chatted with Karen while enjoying a...

Immaculate accommodations, great food, convenient location and an available but not intrusive hostess make the Heathwood Inn our choice for all future stays in Bar Harbor. This was our first stay at a B&B, but we will certainly seek them out now when we travel to other locations. It was great to be able to rely on Karen's advice for...

This was our first visit to Bar Harbor, Maine and we couldn't be more delighted with our stay at the Heathwood Inn! The innkeeper Karen was a wonderful host, she gave us amazing tips on things to do around town as well as really great restaurant reviews! Also, the Inn itself was exactly what we wanted the rooms were spacious,...

Heathwood Inn was a great place to stay on our first trip to Bar Harbor!! Karen the Innskeeper makes you feel right at home. The breakfasts are very delicious, and Karen did a great job accomidating the breakfast to my dietary needs. The downtown area is about a 5-10 minute drive from the Inn, but there is plenty of parking...

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Heathwood Inn. Karen is extremely hospitable and cooks wonderful breakfasts. We unfortunately came down with a cold on the first day of the stay and the steam shower in the Master Suite was quite useful. The roofdeck attached to the room was also a great place to read a book in...

Her baking and cooking could not be surpassed. What I appreciated most was Karen's enthusiasm and energy and amking us fee so welcomed in her inn. Great bathrooms, too!! The...
