We can only highly recommend this place. We had 2 double rooms, both were clean, spotless and very nicely decorated, done with a lot of love. They offered enough space to unpack comfortable for a few nights and not feel crammed. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. Additionally, the price is really competitive, considering parking is...

First of all, the location is fantastic! There's an F-train stop right across the street that can get you to pretty much anywhere and it's within walking distance to the Castro district which is filled with nice shops and places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean and looked to be recently renovated. It was quite spacious (we got...

Great value in a prime location. Not an upscale property by any means but wanted to be close to a muni station and some bars. The area around it is very happening with restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! Many of our guests love our free parking - it's hard to find in SF - but you are right, everything is so close that you can walk or take public transportation! Hope to see you again soon.

We stayed here for several nights (at the beginning and end of our California Coastal road trip) in March. The location is fantastic, as are the staff and smallish rooms. The value is unbeatable for San Francisco and will definitely stay there again when we return! Loved it!

Would definitely recommend and/or stay again. Clean, rooms look like they've had a recent make-over. Free parking which saves about $30/day. Only downside is no breakfast available, but there are plenty of cafes across the street / in the neighborhood.

3 night stay in SF and becks was a fabulous location. On an easy route to town by tram or bus and cheap to travel. It's close to good restaurants and the gay castro area which means there are a variety of people and places to visit. The motel is of an excellent standard. Very clean and safe and the...

A 1960s motel brought into the 21st century with tasteful furnishings and decor. A staff that is always willing to help with advice, directions and...wine when needed! A parking lot with free spaces for guests between the Castro and Mission areas in central San Francisco. Finally, reasonable rates. You even get free coffee at 'Sweet Inspirations' across the street when...

We loved our stay here. right on Market st so a street car into the city was easy and we are right on the edge of Castro. welcoming staff, fantastic renovated rooms and perfect location away from the humbug of down town. We even walked a few times, about 30 mins stroll. lot of local eateries and friendly bars nearby....

As the name suggests Beck's is a motel type, 3 floors with doors opening onto a balcony. The hotel is located at the Castro end of Market St with handy public transport links, buses and the F Line trams run past the building and the Muni Subway stop at Church is just down the road. Car Parking is free if...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
