Stayed at the Palace for 4 nights and then went to Maui and returned for one further night. The hotel were so accommodating and minded our excess luggage while we were in Maui for the week. The deluxe room was very spacious, the bed so comfortable and there was even a heated toilet seat! The staff were very friendly and...

Welcoming staff. Very comfortable beds. Very Clean. Great location within walking distance of Westfields Shopping Centre and Union Square. Close to public transport. Cabs outside. Lovely place to unwind after a busy day touring.

We arrived with such high expectations. Maybe that was our problem..... New Years Eve We arrived at check-in time, it took an hour to check in however we were told it still be a 2 hour wait to get our rooms. We had booked together and asked to be in close proximity to each other (3 rooms), but apparently that...

Stayed here from 24th to the 27th of December and it was a perfect setting to spend Chrsitmas away from home. The Christmas dinner in the main banquet hall was a beautiful venue and had so many delicious options. It was the perfect start to our Honeymoon. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful.

My family stayed one night in San Francisco. As you know, hotels are very expensive there. The Palace hotel is not very expensive, but very luxurious. Location is also nice, so you can easily get to many places.

We visited San Francisco over New Year (29th Dec - 2nd Jan) from England as a surprise birthday gift to my partner, who turned 50 on New Year's Eve. The Palace is fantastically situated - you can get on the BART at San Francisco International Airport and get off at Montgomery St, right outside the hotel, and from there onwards...

My second stay in the Palace while on a business trip. The suites here are particularly nice and one can easily and comfortable host a business meeting there. We also used a conference room - they did a great job preparing and maintaining the rooms. The staff is great; the in-hotel dining options are good and of course you are...

There might be nicer hotels with a better location in SF, but why live in a boring modern hotel when you can live, almost literally in a palace? The Palace Hotel is a truly historic building and the inside looks very palace-like, completely true to its name. The location is great with both the Union Square and the old Ferry...

I just happened across this hotel when searching for a place to stay on a quick weekend down in SF. I didn't even know it was there, only to discover that it's the oldest hotel in the city. It is a beautiful step back in time to walk the wide halls and marble staircases. And the Garden Court has to...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
