This is one of at least a dozen old-school motor lodges in/near the Marina District. The location is good and the rooms are clean, if a bit spartan (tiny stall shower!). The front desk folks were friendly and gave good advice about the area. Probably wouldn't stay here again because I wasn't totally comfortable with a door that could be...

Excellent accommodation and so close to all you need to see and do in SF. Staff were very friendly and very informative. Breakfast was a bonus and we loved the all day cookies which were available with a friendly conversation. Rooms were clean and there were many places to eat nearby.

Arriving at the Hotel Del Sol, I initially saw what I expected to get – a budget stay in San Francisco. Over the next week, I developed a fond affection for the place, not in the least because it represents not a San Francisco boutique hotel, but rather a classic California motor lodge. Highlights: – There are two kinds of hotels....

Hotel del Sol was a delight. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome - the freshly baked pastries and friendly service definitely contributed to this! This was a very family friendly place, Edric was so kind to the kids. They leaped into the heated pool (despite it being the first day of winter!), lounged in the hammocks and gazed...

Hotel Del Sol was a wonderful home away from home. It was clean, comfortable, convenient to shopping and restaurants. And the staff was fabulously kind and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

No extra charge for pets! Parking wAs only $25 a day, which is pretty cheap for SF. About a 20-25 minute walk to the Fisherman Warf area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was minimal, only bagels, oatmeal, and some pastries. There's no indoor seating for breakfast. You can either sit outside near the pool or take the...

Surprisingly charming remodel of an old motor lodge. Loved the mid-century modern furniture and cheerful color scheme. Great value for the location. Staff were authentically friendly, and the continental breakfast better than expected.

Overall good experience. There is one catch though. They don't mention on Expedia that there would be a $25 fee for parking. Also the WiFi isn't great. The room smelled good and was clean. Complimentary breakfast was ok. Staff was helpful.

Stayed here with my family, including kids. It is a renovated motor lodge type that is really comfortable. The location can't be beat! You are near so much at this hotel and with a quick walk, Lyft or Uber, you're in every fun part of the city on your tourist agenda. We had a snafu in one room and the...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
