I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and we were very surprised at the high standard of accommodation for the money we paid. We had a king room and it was very roomy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The dressing and wash room area was a decent size. However we couldn't get the plug to stay...

Location is key and for my stay in San Francisco I was looking for somewhere either within a walkable distance of the city or metro, so the Castle Inn ticked those boxes. My second requirement was parking which they also had…the underground parking I’ll admit was a nice little challenge for my driving abilities and having an SUV as my...

Stayed here and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, such as, fridge, microwave and hair dryer. The front desk staff was helpful and showed us a map of all major attractions. Although we arrived late for the continental breakfast they were gracious and pulled out selections for us. We did not have a car...

I stumbled across this establishment when researching hotels for San Francisco and am extremely happy that we did. They were very helpful from the time I contacted them on their website to the time we checked. It is located in the Nob Hill district which is central to everything, you can walk to most main areas. From these areas a...

The hotel isn't fancy but the price was right given comparisons to other hotels in the area, the parking is free and the location was perfect. The rooms were very clean and had been partially updated. The staff was amazing, giving us pointers on where all the sights were located and especially where to stay away from. The breakfast was...

Stayed one night before cruise. Arrived at 11 am and was pleasantly surprised that room was ready. Was checked in by very friendly and welcoming Damon, who gave us a map and pointed out and marked all the places we wanted to see. Lots of nice cozy restaurants all around the neighborhood. Had to walk up a flight of stairs...

This hotel is, by and large, OK. It's more of a motel (though on several floors), with extensive (and free!) parking facilities available and an open outside hallway to which room doors open - gives a somewhat unusual feel to a European, but I understand this is not uncommon in the USA. The rooms themselves are nothing special, but they're...

Loved the hotel was clean. The room was bit small but not cramped. For the price, location with free parking well worth it! It was close to the muni. Restaurants are close by. Parking is tight with a suv but at least u dont park in the street

We spent 3 nights in San Francisco. We wanted a hotel in a nice area with cheap or free parking. The Castle Inn was perfect for that. It was a bit more than we are used to spending per night for a hotel room, but for San Fran it was a good deal. Check in was quick and easy, almost...

As others have said this is a fairly basic hotel which although isn't cheap is affordable by San Francisco standards, and has the benefit of free car parking which is a real benefit in this city. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and being at the back of the hotel was protected from any noise from the relatively busy road on...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
