Stayed one night before cruise. Arrived at 11 am and was pleasantly surprised that room was ready. Was checked in by very friendly and welcoming Damon, who gave us a map and pointed out and marked all the places we wanted to see. Lots of nice cozy restaurants all around the neighborhood. Had to walk up a flight of stairs...

This hotel is, by and large, OK. It's more of a motel (though on several floors), with extensive (and free!) parking facilities available and an open outside hallway to which room doors open - gives a somewhat unusual feel to a European, but I understand this is not uncommon in the USA. The rooms themselves are nothing special, but they're...

Loved the hotel was clean. The room was bit small but not cramped. For the price, location with free parking well worth it! It was close to the muni. Restaurants are close by. Parking is tight with a suv but at least u dont park in the street

We spent 3 nights in San Francisco. We wanted a hotel in a nice area with cheap or free parking. The Castle Inn was perfect for that. It was a bit more than we are used to spending per night for a hotel room, but for San Fran it was a good deal. Check in was quick and easy, almost...

As others have said this is a fairly basic hotel which although isn't cheap is affordable by San Francisco standards, and has the benefit of free car parking which is a real benefit in this city. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and being at the back of the hotel was protected from any noise from the relatively busy road on...

Chose the Castle Inn as it looked like it offered the best combination between value and location in a good neighbourhood. It still isn’t cheap, just compared to other hotel rooms in good areas of expensive SF it is Check in was efficient, with Marshall giving us a map on which he marked things to see/do, and areas of downtown...

We stayed here for 3 nights in August. The rooms are basic but clean. The breakfast had yogurt, granola bars, oatmeal and bad coffee. The location was good and parking was free. The price was reasonable for San Francisco.

The room did not waste space, and had two beds, a long shelf/dresser area to store things, and a bathroom with cabinets, counter space and hooks. It was clean and simple. The location is excellent. Don't expect too much from their breakfast, it was mostly just some single serving yogurts and prepackaged pastries. Their parking lot is convenient but very...

We stayed here because it was the nicest looking but cheapest place with free parking, but we were really pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! Room was lovely and big, really modern bathroom and kitchenette, adequate breakfast, everything you need for a good city break! It was in a good location for us as we like to walk and...

I stayed for 3 nights while I was in San Francisco, this place is a fraction of the price of what other San Fran hotels are and it's still in a really good location. 15/20 minute walk down to the Bay Area and it's right next to Polk street which has loads of places to eat. Free parking is available...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
