We enjoyed the hotel very much. It is very convenient to all the major transportation routes. The breakfast is complimentary and good. Service is very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back to stay.

I had to be in SF for business and for a conference near City Hall. I needed a hotel that met my company expense account requirements (not easy in San Francisco), especially during the weekend of the SF Marathon. When a Holiday Inn room in SF is priced at $279 a night, you know it’s going to be a challenge...

Inn at the Opera and Hayes Valley were a highlight of our trip to San Francisco. The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was excellent. We had one glitch in that the lock on our door malfunctioned. The situation was handled as well as could be and we were generously compensated for the inconvenience....

I just spent a really enjoyable weeklong stay at Inn at the Opera. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. I stayed in a Ballet suite and found it to be spacious enough for my needs. Very clean and quiet. The hotel is also conveniently located to public transit and the trendy Hayes Valley neighbourhood. I have made many...

Nice, clean, extremely friendly staff, but could do with a renovation. In terms of location, a bit far from the centre, but direct train to the tourist areas, bus to Haight-Asbury and not far to Alamo Sq (Painted Ladies). Great if you don't want to be in the crazy centre. Breakfast not very varied, not much fruit.

This is a lovely hotel which has its share of good and bad things. The reception and staff are very friendly and helpful- beyond any expectations. This is the strongest point about this hotel - people who run it. The weakest link are rooms. The rooms are dismally small ( i was given one the size of a closet and...

This is an interesting little place located right near the Opera House, Symphony Hall etc. It is walking distance to great little shops and places to eat in the Hayes area. BART (Civic Center) is about 4 blocks away. At night the walk from BART can be a little iffy as there are so many people camped out in the...

Conveniently located in the up and coming Hayes Valley area, this hotel and staff is excellent. The suite rooms are large and comfortable, free wifi, great continental breakfast, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. They will book tours, arrange transportation and give restaurant recommendations - as they eat at these place themselves!

This is located in a nice area called Hayes Valley-cute shops and good restaurants. Centrally located for walking to most "tourist"destinations and easy access to public transportation. Valet parking seems pricey but the best alternative to street or public lots. Had a problem getting my sunroof to close but valet was able to help and he fixed it. We had...

The staff at this hotel go out of their way to assist you. They suggested and booked a fun wine tour for us, which turned out to be the vest value for your money, according to everyone we talked with. They were courteous and helpful at all times, including the restaurant staff for the free continental breakfast, which we ate...

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
