The hotel felt very old and ehh. When I first checked in, the sheets had a stain and there was hair all over the pillow 😲
They changed them after I complained but still couldn't get over it throughout the stay.

After a gap of a few years we returned to the Marines in May 2017. Wonderful to see that it has not lost any of it's charm. From the front desk, to maids and the bar/restaurant staff, all were friendly and helpful. The location is...More
The location is great - downtown, 2 blocks away from Union Square, close to everything. The building has character and history and is arranged like a Marines museum. Parking is rather expensive (as it always is in SF), I would really recomment just renting a...More

Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Rene you two will really enjoy your stay here. Right of Powell where the street cars run. Little French Restraunt next door is so so. The club has one of the best restaurants in town on the top floor. You are in walking distance from many places. Lyft or Urber are everywhere. I would skip the car. You should take warm clothes. You just don’t know. There are many tours to a host of choices you can enjoy as well. If you don’t have fun it’s your fault!!
