Brilliant atmosphere, nice small hostel with great people. Had so much fun. Great activities, even better cooking for the group meals and the staff are great. A unique place as its small and cost effective in the center of downtown. Great cosy atmosphere. Would recommend

You should most definitely book this hostel if you're a backpacker and you had no luck Couchsurfing in SF. You should probably book this hostel if you are on a budget, because it's very cheap by SF standards, and its location is very good. You should probably stay elsewhere if you want any privacy. Note to the people arriving with...

Nice place to stay and visit San Francisco, the guys of the hostel are very funny and help me a lot to find the best places to visit in the city. They have good activities in the hostel and in the city to do everyday. I hope to come back soon.

After climbing a steep 4 floors, this 16 guests hostel is compact, friendly and for the rate is good. You will need to use the ear plugs and eye shades to sleep in this bunker beds, it can get a lot noisy and disturbance for the light sleeper. The location is good, 10 minute walk to the cable car station,...

Pacific Tradewinds Hostel is probably one of the most affordable places to stay given its ideal location in the heart of San Francisco! Many attractions like Fishermans Wharf, Union Square, Coit Tower, Chinatown, and so on are easily walkable from the hostel, apart from the nearby bus stops and BART station. The staff are super friendly and gave us a...

Everything was excellent from the very moment I arrived. The staff is friendly and everyone is quite friendly. In other words, the atmosphere was great and meeting people there really helped me make the most of my stay in SF. I highly recommend this hostel ! The only reason why I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars is that...

If you want personal space and privacy you're better off at the Hyatt. Pacific Tradewinds is well run, clean, safe. Social activities every day. Wifi and two computer terminals for your use. Super friendly atmosphere. You will arrive as a guest and leave as family.

Excellent stay at pacific Tradewinds! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hostel was clean and well kept, with the added benefit of being centrally located. It was perfect for my incredibly short stay in San Francisco!

Very accommodating, very clean, and a lot of little quality of life things like the kitchen and common room. Very central and close to Chinatown and a couple of blocks away from Montgomery St. BART station/Market Street. Hosts are nice and I would stay here again.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
