Great location (be ready for the hill if you plan to walk a lot), and great value in an area of top luxury hotels (love having included breakfast and wifi too). Food is good, the bar is a hoot! Love the clubby nature of this place, it's all dark woods and old school charm. A little dated in the décor,... More

I stayed for one night at the request of a member. One check out, the bill was $258.75 and I was charged $495 TWICE. I received a text from my bank and confronted the desk clerk who informed me that it was impossible. I showed her the bank texts and even got the bank on the phone. She said she... More

I am sorry for the issues that you had at The University Club. Unfortunately, we do, as is custom in the hotel industry, put a minimal hold on a credit card, for those who are paying by that method, for incidental charges. The customer’s bank puts a minimal hold (labeled as ‘pending charge’) on the funds for a short period... More

We enjoyed a very comfortable night in a well appointed room at the university club and had a great dinner with friendly service. The oysters accompanied with champagne were great as was the salmon with a good but very reasonably priced pinot noir

We stayed here several times. It is located in Nob Hill across from the Fairmont. The rooms are nice but do not expect much of concierge service. The breakfast is very basic and ends at 9.30. The front desk is the only person taking care of everything from the guest services to laying out and refilling the breakfast.

Color me skeptical...opinionated. The Club is a Superlative location on Nob Hill. Check in at 4 pm and all four parking places were taken at 4:10 pm. Really? What does one do with their car? Fairmont Hotel parking available for $60.00 Really? Creaky floors, paper thin walls, and time travel (dated) rooms. Thin towels. Rock hard pillows. Lovely bar- old... More

This building was built as a gentlemens' club over 100 years ago, and has amazing rooms and décor, wood panelling and ornate ceilings in abundance The lodging rooms are sometimes available for non-members The room I had needed redecorating really, and a window would not close. The staff helped me to close it, and I am fine with non-mint rooms... More

A very interesting place to stay in SF. We found our room modest and comfortable. Our bed was the highlight, we both slept well! If you've ever wanted to step back in time and stay at a 1930's era hotel, this is the place for you. The Club is an old money, old style, bare bones and very unique spot. I took a room for several nights and felt I'd moved into a Bogart movie. Creaky stairs; wooden paneling; dark oil paintings; sparsely furnished... More
