The location is really good, just a few minutes to the beach, restaurants and an 7Eleven. The staff was friendly. The Motel itself is old and shabby. The room had a very strange smell. There was black hair all over the bathroom. The bed was saggy but probably the best thing about the room. The tram is passing all night....

I ended up booking here more out of desperation than desire as almost the entire city was booked solid that week. First, the location is not near downtown or the city's best known tourist areas (other than Ocean Beach, two blocks over), so get ready for some driving or transit riding to do see those areas. As for the motel...

This hotel is rather filthy and untidy. The carpet is smelly, the floor is uneven. And due to single glazed Windows and the nearby overground metro, it's very loud and everything in the room vibrates every time the metro passes by (and it passes like every 7 minutes or so). It looked like it has never been attempted to clean...

Awful. The staff shouldn't stand behind bulletproof glass when talking to their customers. Its blatant disrespect for their guests well being. I made my reservation 3 months in advance and they didn't have my room ready when i came to check in. There was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. These jerks shouldnt be charging $100 a night...

Booked here last minute while traveling on business because all of my usual downtown hotels were sold out. While it is a bit run down and in desperate need of a makeover, the location is amazing. It is in a very safe area about a block from the beach, has free parking, and the room was very clean. Great place...

The location is great, near the beach and very quiet. Neighborhood is ok, there's a little coffee place on the way to the beach, very pleasant and nice (food, drinks, different kinds of coffee). There's also a bar next to the motel - I didn't go there but it seems ok, and I think there's a pool table. Room did...

Footsteps from the Pacific Ocean. Footsteps from the N line. Perfectly situated in the Sunset District. Off the beaten path. This is what Beach Motel delivered during my first trip to SF. It is a budget hotel and it will not live up to your expectations if you're a spoiled and/or ignorant traveler who doesn't do their homework. If you...

I read the reviews before hand and understood the downfalls, such as Muni and the loud bar downstairs. This was NYE and my husband and I were just looking for a few BASIC things. We wanted to be close to the beach. That we were. Then we wanted a refrigerator because we were staying in the room for New years....

We could see the water from the fire escape, that's all the good about this place. There's about 8 parking spots in the back, so trying to find parking in the evening is a nightmare. It's easier to list what was clean: the sink & the bed linen. I'm not exaggerating when I mention that I found boogers on every...
