We booked here as we were unsure of where else to go! The man on reception was friendly, offered us a good price gave good information was very helpful. From the hotel, away from the main road the neighbourhood is lovely, one of the nicest in San Francisco. Would rate the location as top and the room as expected. There...

We stayed for one night only. We were received by a gentleman that was super nice to us, he even gave us 2x quarters so we had the exact change for the bus. The room was nice and decent, the sheets seemed fresh and the bathroom was clean. The only con about the room is that it kind of smelled...

Room was filthy and not up to my standards. I can understand its in san francisco but that doesn't mean that you get such horrible service for paying so much. I felt the walls were very thin and things just didn't feel very safe. They don't pay attention to detail. I will not be staying here again.

Not the cheapest, but very low standard. Dirty bedsheets and smelly room. We bought a scented candle to get rid of the nasty smell. We didn't dare to use the showers. Find another place if you're able.

Not only was the room at Knights Inn San Francisco very expensive, the walls were so thin I could hardly sleep because of all the noise. There is also a total lack of assistance from staff. I have been writing to the staff for weeks in order to receive an electronic copy of my receipt, but have thus far not...

I booked a room for 7 nights accepting that this was a budget motel in an expensive city however for nearly $2,000 I was astounded at the state of the room. There were food scraps, cotton buds and long black hairs throughout the room. There were very few power outlets so when I searched for extras behind the bed I...

The hotel was one of the cheapest in the area--roughly $100/night, compared to the $185 almost all the other hotels were charging for the nights I was looking at. The room itself was actually pretty decent, with a working AC unit and reasonably clean demeanor. It also had a larger-than-usual mini-fridge, which actually fit some take-out containers, so that was...

We got stranded in San Francisco, late, after the Motel we originally booked into turned out to be a dump (and im not picky!) the guy (whos name evades me) was very friendly and welcoming, bit quirky, but nice. the room was lovely and close to local amenities. We had a car but was easier getting the bus, which is...

Although they advertised that the rooms were recently redone it's not like they were all redone. Our room had a coat of paint and some minor upgrades - but they neglected to freshen up the toilet seat or paint any of the trim. Just seemed odd. One mattress was newer than the other so that's the one we picked to...

This motel was just where I wanted to stay in San Fran and, for this city, was a reasonable price. On check-in, I received excellent service and the manager even showed me to the room and explained how to operate the shower (which is not at all obvious). Car parking was easy. The room was not large but it had...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
