I booked the hotel through booking.com. The price seemed good but excluded taxes. That's ok, I guess. Just makes comparison difficult. What surprised me was the check - out when a 30 GBP fee per night was added to my bill. When I queried it, the hotel said that it was for the water and coffee in the room and...

My adult daughter and I stayed at the Park Central hotel in San Francisco for 3 nights in December 2016. The Hotel was conveniently located in Union Square in the city. That's where it stops. The Hotel was rated 4 stars. (Self rated I believe) The cost per night was A$455.(breakfast not included) The hotel did not provide Room service. The...

Nice hotel for business stay. Walking distance to Pier, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square and shopping as well as some fabulous restaurants. Good but expensive breakfast buffet but an alternative option is mini-Starbucks area in lobby. Cosy, large off lobby seating area with sofas and chairs which was a comfortable area to take your drink and meet others. Some nice views...

The hotel's location is good, reception was helpful, and the bed comfortable-- but that's about all. If you arrive late the restaurant is closed, there's no room service and no mini bar. It's 7:30 am and no concierge. The room has the minimum. If you want something basic this is it.

the hotel generally is good and the location is one of the better one. however, service level of hotel staff is not up to mark and no intuitive to guest's need. The room is clean and amenities are working as they should. not your typical standard from a SPG hotels.

A Westin by any other name is still a Westin. I guess what I mean by that statement - the Park Central is a Westin hotel with all of the amenities you'd expect at any other upper end SPG property. The rooms are Westin comfortable and outfitted the exact same - sans the convenience of a mini-bar, but still very...

I was booked into the Park Central for a four-day convention at the Moscone Center, and for this it could not have been better located. Just 1 block (basically) and there you are. Closer to 3 blocks to Union Square. Lots of restaurants within an easy walk, and of course, good shopping. About 2 blocks to the BART station. The...

I stayed at the Park Central during a weekend trip to San Francisco last month. The front desk staff were friendly enough, but not overwhelmingly so. I had to ask about an upgrade, as it was not initially offered--something that SPG hotels are normally pretty good about doing for Platinum members. Regardless, I was offered the upgrade, and was happy...

This has been and will continue to be my "go to" hotel in San Francisco. We had a small family (7 people) business meeting and used the hotel as a place to meet and stay, for those of us coming from different parts of the country. It was also a place where we used a second floor room for our...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
