If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, then The Stratford fits the bill. It is convenient and very clean. We normally spend double to stay in what I would consider a more updated, fancier hotel, but The Stratford was perfectly fine. At first we were a little surprised when we opened the door to such a tiny room.... More

Stratford is really a good choice for travellers on their own who are not driving. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to BART station and the cable car is just in front of you. The room is cosy, though a bit small, at least you can place 2 big suitcase in a double room. Everything you expect... More

We stayed at the Stratford for 2 nights over New Years. I really liked The Stratford. It was a cute hotel and priced right. We were right in the heart of Union Square and I loved all of the shopping to be right outside the door. Our room was small but very clean, the bed was comfortable and most importantly,... More

I stayed in the Stratford hotel for 5 nights in a standard room with a double bed during my first visit to San Francisco. The hotel is situated 2 blocks aways from the powell street Muni metro/Bart station along Market street which also has the F streetcar (that goes to Fisherman's Wharf) and many other bus services to other parts... I´m impressed with this hotel: the staff is very helpfull, attentive, the room was small, was very clean and fragrant, the breakfast is simple but enough to start the morning. There is no parking but its location doesnt requiring a car: you are in the heart of San Francisco and everything you need is only a block away. It is... More

Excellent location, with Union Square and Cable Car Stop nearly right outside the hotel. Rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. Only one elevator and it was slow so need to plan for extra time. Continental breakfast was basic, but free. 3rd party provides internet access and it doesn't accept American Express so I couldn't get access. One Front Desk... More

Stayed at The Stratford 5 years ago liked it then and liked it better this time. Excellent location - cable car at the door, Union Square close by. This time we chose a Queen Room which was much larger than the standard and typical phone booth room in SFO, Also had a room on the back side away from Powell... More

We had a great experience staying at the Stratford. The staff were friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Breakfast was basic but it was good... More

The hotel is great for it's absolutely perfect location and low price. There are lots of shops, bars, diners, car rentals, parkings just outside. There are also cable car station, BART and MUNI stations just in a few blocks. So the hotel is just in the middle of the action. Rooms are small but clean, comfortable and quiet. In some... More
