My family of four recently stayed the night in a Junior Suite. It was absolutely darling and ample room for us all. We set up the playard in the sitting room and my husband and I shared the incredibly comfortable queen sized bed with our son. The bathroom was clean and crisp and the art was beautiful. The old fashioned...

We came in from San Fran international by the BART. It is located just around the corner from Powell, was that a hike up the hill with bags, good exercise. A very warm French greeting. The rooms are lovely with lots of draws and room for hanging clothes. The bathroom well equipped and has Tarocco bathroom soaps etc a favourite....

I really loved the character of this hotel. The rooms are cute (small), gorgeous and beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Interestingly, the hotel entrance is really small and on a slope so all your luggage rolls down if you just park slightly uphill. Don't be stupid like us and park downhill and drag the luggage up, which is tedious (LOL)....

This place is very clean. The building is old but very well updated. The location is great. The included breakfast was very good and the live music at breakfast was a nice touch--all French themed!! The staff was friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our week at the hotel. Lovely room, comfortable bed, very quiet in 306. Good breakfast although limited menu. Service was excellent overall. Everyone was very responsive to all requests. We wonder if the room would be as quiet once the restaurant reopens. We'll be back!

We spent one night at this hotel while visiting San Francisco. We chose the least expensive room and it was very small. There was only one person at the front desk and since she had to show each guest to their room, it took some time to check in. The breakfast was OK.

Hotel Cornell de France: just west of Powell, on south side of Bush. Great location! Easy walk to Chinatown, Union Square, and access to public transportation to everywhere else in SF. The hotel has a narrow but attractive entrance footprint on Bush. The front desk is just that: a desk near front of hotel, where you’ll find a helpful, friendly,...

We loved staying at the Cornell Hotel. It has a very European atmosphere, including the awesome old school elevator which is beautifully painted. The service was excellent and the room was very clean and serviceable. The free WiFi worked well. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the Jeanne d'Arc restaurant. The location is great. We walked to Union Square, China...

This is a really quaint little hotel, very clean, nice friendly staff and a tasty cooked breakfast included.. Yards away from the cable car stop that takes you straight to fishermans wharf. Definitely recommend this hotel.

“Ask if the mattress cover can be safely removed. I'd also ask for a higher room just for better ventilation, particularly in warm weather.”
