This mid-priced hotel is in a beautifully updated older building. It retains the original features (cool old elevator, wrought iron railings, old-fashioned staircases) but has been thoroughly modernized. It has rooms with shared bath (WC and shower rooms down the hall) and rooms with private...More
I visited The Mosser on a business trip.
What I liked:
- Location was great, close to Powell BART station
- Also close to Convention Center
What I didn't like:
- Room was tiny, with a shared bathroom
- Very noisy, thin walls and windows...More
The rooms are very small, walls very thin so you can here if your neighbors are talking. Precious from the front desk was very nice. The location in general is very good it is close to the bus station.
Hotel fine, location fine, somewhat noisy hence why earplugs are provided. Front of house male staff not very helpful at all, nor are they happy, enthusiastic or knowledgeable, thankfully the lady was able to make up for their short-comings! Must be better places which is...More
Great location - two locks from Moscone Centre and right in the middle of town.
Although the room was compact, it had everything I needed.
Staff were efficient and friendly. Room was very well cleaned.
I enjoyed my stay - Thanks
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized
streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.

Sorry, We take advantage of the bay area's excellent public transport, BART. and as mentioned the Powell station is close. around $10 a person/trip. From the Mosser it's a great walk to Coit tower, down through telegraph hill on stairs and ramps that go between quaint neighborhood then to pier 23 Cafe for tasty eats. We were there in crab season. if not the bloody mary's were good at the bar.
