I stayed at the Le Meridien for a night for a business trip and overall had a good stay. The check in and check out process was efficient. The staff was helpful and professional. I was, however, expecting a bit more from a hotel that charged $340 a night. The room, although clean and spacious, was quite spartan. My room... More

You will not mistake this for a luxury destination hotel, but it is well-located, across the street from One Embarcadero, and a good business hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful without being overly engaging. My room did not have a directory of services, so I really did not explore the hotel facilities. The bar seemed nice enough but it... We just returned from a great stay at the Le Meridien in San Francisco. Our room was spacious, which is unexpected in San Francisco. The beds were comfy and the service was great. We went to the concierge with three or four questions and received great advice! We used the Embaradero Center Walkway which stretched from our hotel to the... More

Le Meridien is a nice hotel in the center of San Francisco. The room was quite large, a decent gym facility, and excellent service. The valet for cars is expensive - but suspect that they are price-competitive as the going rate is $50/night. Overall, a good hotel - but a bit pricier than I would have hoped - as it... More

They've had the same staff here for a long time - at least the concierge has been here for as long as I've been visiting for the past 7 years. It's nice to see familiar faces. The place has been through a few redesigns and the latest one is rather modern for what I think of when I think of... More

Stayed here for a wedding. The rooms were clean, spacious & nice. The staff were friendly & helpful and the location was convenient. Very close to China town & an easy walk along foot bridge to the Embarcadero. Lots of fun things to do & see there - our highlights were the Alcatraz tour (get your tickets early) and biking... Tl;dr: hotel system can't keep track of reservations, resulting in people walking into my room in the middle of the night. Rude and incompetent customer service makes it worse. The horror story: I've stayed at many Starwood hotels, and my experience at Le Meridien has indisputably been the worst. They seem to have systemic problems withboth their reservation technology and... More

Stayed here as a local the night before a scheduled surgery at local hospital... It was a big room and comfy . The location is in financial district with a great view of the famous tran America building. We were in town for a wedding and Le Meridien was the hotel the bride and groom had chosen as the hotel of choice for out of town guests. We're glad they did. The place was modern (really it's not dated at all), the room was large, quiet, and clean, and the bed comfortable. When our TV was inoperable on... More

In short this hotel feels a bit dated but for the price it is fine, particularly given the location. We arrived late and were given a pretty unenthusiastic welcome at the front desk. Room was upgraded however and quite large. Fixtures and fittings were dated but in decent condition and everything was v clean. View from balcony was great. SPG... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
