Nice ambiance in the courtyard. The inviting colors and foliage were soothing. Once inside we could chill and look out toward the pool. Everything thing was shabby sheik. I recommend this hotel and will be returning. The USB charger didn't work but that was no big deal b
I’ve stayed regularly at The Phoenix for at least 20 years. The hotel is moderately priced, well maintained, and staffed by many long time employees. The streets around the area can be crowded with unfortunate people; however, I’ve always felt safe, and the hotel and parking are always being supervised. I can walk back late in the evening without any problems and have a warm, comfortable room after I stop for a good drink at Chambers. I always recommend the hotel to my friends.
Loved our 1 night stay at the Phoenix. My friends and I went to a show at Bill Graham and this location is perfect to walk from. Great vibe, room is cozy, wish we brought swimsuits for the pool. The surrounding location isnt the best, but the hotel has key card access for safety. Will definitely come back!
Room and staff are very good and comfortable. But it was a little bit cold in my room. I bought cold drink in order to drink in my room. But I couldn’t because it was cold. But on the whole, it is no problem
Always a chill vibe with a warm pool. Great staff. Everyone takes care of business. Front desk is awesome. Robert is always helpful and goes above and beyond. Greg keeps it real and finds resourceful ways to help out guests.
The hotel is fun and inviting. The staff are friendly, and really work hard to make you feel important. Best stay I have had in a long time. They all went the extra mile to assure my trip was stress free
We are local spending a night in the city for a bachelorette party. This hotel is pretty central to most places in the city. You have to know that is in the hotel heart of the tenderloin. Although it’s in the heart of the tenderloin we felt safe and secure. The hotel and its rooms give off a cool trendy vibe. I would definitely recommend this place a true hidden gem in San Francisco.
Great spot with plenty of character, fantastic staff and everything in the room met or exceeded expectations. On the edge of a dodgy part of town but otherwise a fantastic stay. Would not hesitate to recommend.
I never write reviews but I had to sing the praises of the Phoenix Hotel. It's such a fantastic place and a little oasis in the center of the city. The staff is incredible, attentive, kind and helpful. Especially Orlando, who went above and beyond. The pool is heated and always welcoming. It's a great place for creatives who work remotely (you can work poolside if the weather is nice). I have nothing but wonderful memories of my stay there and can't wait to return!
Great experience at the Phoenix. My boys and I really enjoyed the hotel. Staff fantastic. My car was not broken into and seems as though the active drug dealing, homeless & drug use seems to stay outside the invisible barrier outside the Phoenix property. Once you step outside the property, you just need to walk like you're tough. The location was1 block away from the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco which was great. I'm not sure if I would've walked by myself as a woman at night but felt comfortable with my 14- and 20-year-old children (boys). I plan on going back to visit the nearby museums.
