Overall it's a decent hotel. The location is great as it's just a block from Union Square, meaning that it's close to a variety of shopping and dining destinations. No complaints about the staff, they all seemed professional and accommodating. Our first night wasn't very good because upon arrival we learned that the city would be shutting the water off...

I love the retro rock-n-roll vibe of this hotel. It's super cute and boutiquey. So, if you're trying to get away from the mainstream hotel, this is a great option. Our room was small, but cute. Loved the overhead light that projected "peace" onto the ceiling. The bed was extremely comfortable. We slept like a couple of rocks each night....

The service is one of the best, everyone was super nice and trying to help. Great room, clean and cozy and the restaurant is prefect for breakfast. From now on this is our go to hotel in San Francisco.

Hotel Zeppelin dazzled my wife and I from the very start! We booked Hotel Z for New Year's Eve and the following day. Knowing that San Francisco's traffic can be a hassle, we opted to utilize the valet service which was at a very reasonable price. The valet took our car and kept it safe for the duration of our...

Good things: - close to Union Square - a gym (not big, but will do great if you are not more than 5 at a time) - friendly staff Bad things: - our room was really, really small for what we paid (around $165/night) - everything was quite dark (I get the atmosphere bit, but some light and fresh air...

Location: good - very close to union Sq, Japan town within walkable distance. Hotel rooms: bed size (queen size) was a bit small and more like a double bed size but comfort level is okay not too soft. The only thing I didn't like was the old house smell from hallway to our room. At first we thought just the...

Beautiful hipster hotel that does most everything right. The decor is great...very very nice, and the rooms are well equipped. Wi-Fi seems to work better / faster than most hotels. Front desk personnel were amazing. Only complaints: Not the greatest neighborhood. If you stay here, always walk out to the RIGHT toward Union Square. If you turn left and go...

Thanks for the review beicholz! I guess we could be considered "hip" with our 60s rock n roll vibe. We are definitely right in the heart of downtown San Francisco which has a very diverse culture. Union Square is one of the best places to check on in SF and we're lucky to be so close it. Thanks for staying...

Retro and contemporary all at once, the Zep combines the comforts of fresh-from-the-showroom modernness with a strong nod to the Summer of Love musical vibe. Reminders of the Grateful Dead and other bands of the era are everywhere, right down to the bathroom wallpaper -- but the sound-level in public areas is mellow enough. The location, especially if you're at...

Stayed here on business and the location is practically unbeatable. It was let down by the general noise of the building itself, other guests walking on wooden floors above your room and noisy industrial fans (I assume from kitchen) running all night. Not enough lighting especially in the entry hall/closet, so dark it was hard to operate the safe.

There are severall other hotels in the area-but none seem to have the charm that Hotel Zeppelin has! Very small rooms-no bathroom counter space or much room to walk around-but in the heart of the city yo won’t be spending much time in your room anyway! It has all you need- (no frills like robes or slipper though) funky feel-...
