I have stayed at the SF Marriott Marquis about 6 times for conferences held at the Moscone Center. The rooms are fairly consistent, although have definitely been in nicer rooms than the one I was in this visit. This room was somewhat small, dim, and no view to speak of. The room was not cleaned until very late in the...

This is one of the nicest Marriott Hotels that I've had the pleasure of staying. I was able to wake up and watch the sunrise from my bed! Once I got up, I enjoyed the full breakfast available in the lounge. Shout out to Malte, Claudia and Nena!

We spent 2 nights here. Have stayed here in the past. We like the location.close to public transportation. 😀😀😀 Staff is friendly and courteous. Room is bright, we were on the 16th floor, could hear the ding of the Cable Car. Also heard sirens. We will stay here again when in the area.💐💐

The hotel is huge, has all the services you could care for, and an amazing fitness center (one of the best I have seen in a hotel). However the area south of Union Square and in Downtown in general is very dirty, full of homeless and beggars and all the restaurants nearby are always full or expensive given the high...

As part of a work conference, I stayed at this enormous convention hotel. Due to its proximity to Moscone Center, you may end up paying a wide variety of rates, depending on events happening there. Because it is such a large hotel, be prepared for crowds. Check-in was quick in my case, although some colleagues reported up to 10 minutes...

Writing this while staying here one night on Dec 3 to attend a company holiday party. As a gold member, I have access to the exec lounge. Found their breakfast hours are 6:30am-9:30am, even on Sunday! Thought - ok no problem, I'll call and they will take care of it - either give access to downstairs buffet which goes till...

I was quite satisfied with my three night stay here. My king room on the ninth floor had a nice view, was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and was big enough. The location is midway between Moscone center (where my convention was) and Market Street/Union Square. There's a Peet's Coffee just outside, and the concierge offered four great dining options also...

I spent a week at this hotel, where I attended a conference. It was a miserable stay, despite the outrageouslynhigh price I paid for the room. My room faced the inner space of the hotel; I could not see the sky, could not see outdoors. It was like being confined in jail. I am surprised that a hotel is authorized...

I booked this hotel through a 3rd party vendor and it was to accommodate 3 adults. We had a room on the 25th floor and it had an uncomfortable sofa bed, which was replaced as a bed by a roll away. Normal, run of the mill room, nice toiletries, and a view. This is a very large hotel in an...

We booked here because a friend's wedding had booked a block of rooms at a reasonable rate. However, the experience even during our short stay was chaotic and frustrating, mainly because the staff seem unable to manage some of the large groups they are booking. Check-in was managed well. Even though our early check-in request wasn't able to be accomodated,...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
