We truly waffled as to where to stay in San Francisco. After weeks of pouring over info and attractions--we stayed here--so glad we did! Getting into their valet area (pay attention) is a little challenging as there are so many one way streets and parking a premium in San Fran. But we chose to pay to have the valet park...

Quite pricey but the top floor bar is pretty great, especially for the views. Just be sure to bring a big wallet. Looking forward to going back in early Sept for the FroYo 5k that's being held downtown by the ferry building. Should be a quick and easy walk or cab from this hotel. Just be aware that the BART...

Checked-in today. The rate is over $ 450 day. The service does not match the price. Some equipment in the room was not working. This hotel doen not have room service! You have to the lobby bar and pick-up the food your self. Lousy menu. The location is good. But there other great hotels around.

So, this is a huge hotel located right outside Moscone. Rooms are big, clean and bright. The rates are usually ok for San Francisco. Big attraction is the bar on the 39th floor- views of the city are amazing. I would recommend the hotel, just realize it is not a boutique hotel and the service is not personable. It is...

Pluses for the Marriott Marquis: - location - awesome location close to Union Square, shopping and Embarcadero - smooth check in, good bell service and valet/greeting staff - well organised for a hotel of this size Where the Marriott Marquis loses its stars: - Cleanliness - we stayed two times over the course of 10 days. The first time the...

You pay dearly for bringing your car to a hotel, and good turnaround starts on entry and on exit. Marriott met the mark here. Adam was great; courteous, warm and informative. We had an upper floor, which helped muffle a lot of the street noise and the enormous nearby construction that make traffic dicey. We had breakfast and lunch. Lunch...

Stayed here because it was the host hotel to a function we attended. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful!! Room was a typical sized room. The bathroom was accommodating enough. Beds were comfortable. Pillows were plenty. Room was clean. There was nowhere to get ice or an ice bucket (needed it for medications that...

Is located downtown, easy access to public transport. Service is great, they will try to provide all you need. Still I don't like that wi-fi is more than $10 per day, I know this is standard for this level of hotel, but should not be. The restaurant in the lobby is OK. This is a good location for conference and...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
