This is a great hotel when you can get a fair price. The service is great, the staff friendly, and the food is decent for hotel food. Since they've kept the hotel in the style of the 1930's, you can close your eyes and image what it was like to be an upper class traveler in those times. Another benefit...

We’ve stayed at this beautiful restaurant atop Nob Hill a few times over the past 3 years and recommend it highly. The service and accommodations are top notch. Pricing can vary, and I’ve been lucky to get convention/ business rates which have made pricing more manageable. The lobby is breathtaking and the views from the refurbished rooms in the tower...

My wife and I recently stayed at The Fairmont on the first leg of our American honeymoon and we could not have picked a better hotel. The building (reception, restaurants, bars and rooms) are all fantastic and beautiful. However, the best element is most definitely the staff; from the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and looked...

The hotel is beautiful, the lobby, bedrooms and bar were fantastic. We had a room on the 4th floor for the first night which had a view over the city. There was an issue with the floor above so we were moved to the 20th floor - Wow the view - overlooking the whole bay. I have never experienced a...

Thank you for your very kind words about the hotel. We're thrilled you had such a nice visit and enjoyed your room on the 20th floor. Stayed on the 23rd floor which is the highest floor of bedrooms and the views we had over the bay from the golden gate bridge right across were stunning. This is a large hotel so can take a while to walk through and front desks can be busy at times but that happens in every large hotel. Ordered room service...

Standing majestically at the top of Nob Hill, this grand hotel epitomises opulence. The large marble lobby is magnificent. We spent 4 nights here and loved it, feeling incredibly lucky! You can go up to the 23rd floor of the tower for amazing views of the city. There is s Powell & Mason cable car stop at the hotel which...

Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. We're pleased to hear you had such a nice stay and enjoyed our central location atop Nob Hill. I stayed at the Fairmont last week with 2 girlfriends for several days. We stayed in a tower room overlooking the Bay. Definitely worth the extra cost. The room was very clean, the bathroom was updated in marble, and the service was excellent. We can be slightly high maintenance with our requests, and the hotel staff was able to attend...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
