The rooms are very soulful with antique furniture and nice set up. The neighbourhood is not much to experience, totally without the charm of the hotel. The front desk staff were allright, nice lady but one man was just awfull. Downgraded our room temporarily due to a clogged toilet and then said the downgrade would be permanent because he thought...

I apologize with the mix up at the front desk. I will look at addressing this issue.

The hotel is very old , it really needs to be restored. Carpet everywhere old-fashioned furniture and a very noisy AC. It is well connected to the city main attractions and close to a nice shopping and restaurants area.

Booked about 9 months in advance. Upon arrival we was delighted to find out that we had been given a ground floor room (insert sarcastic tone). The room was dated & had a bizarre musky smell. I went into the bathroom to wash my face and to my horror there was a pubic hair on the front of my towel...

There is valet curbside to stairs that take you to the front desk. Great hotel with so much charm. Very comfortable rooms with all the amenities. A beautiful dining room with breakfast hours and a bar.with a happy hour makes it a very comfortable place to stay in San Francisco. Walking is good to many locations of interest with lots...

The first thing I noticed was a sign on the exterior that read "warning, this facility contains one or more chemicals know to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and reproductive harm." The second thing I noticed was the dank smell of must. Thirdly was the chairs that were tattered and in need of reupholstery I don't...

I apologize for your poor experience. The sign you are referring to is for tobacco smoking not the hotel itself. I do believe I've addressed lack of A/C units. I will look into finding another possible solution in the near future. Thank You.

This was my refuge from the chaos of Saigon. The city is in rapid growth, where street and sidewalk infrastructure is lacking for pedestrians. The Hotel Majestic is a wonderful hotel, with an old world feel. The rooms are very large, and super clean. The roof top dining for morning breakfast is fantastic with great food, and wonderful view of...

This hotel, at one time, must have been really something. Today it is an aging Grande Dame, trying to seem relevant. The outside is beautiful. The lobby and the people working there are wonderful. What some think to be problems, such as the claw legged bathtubs, are really the charm of the hotel. Air conditioning is not an issue in...

Both my husband and me were a littl bit concernd due to some bad reviews and did not know exactly what to expect. We use to stay at Best Western Plus and like the standards and amenities of almost all the hotels we visited, nevertheless chain hotels were actually too expansive in August and finally we found a good deal...

Just remind you that this is an old building and it is kept that way. You need to know that its a historical building in San Francisco and furniture, shower and tub are old. This classic European-inspired boutique hotel is just a short ten blocks away from the Union Square shops and restaurants of Downtown. Located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, our quiet surroundings offer a conveniently located romantic escape from the many noises of Downtown San Francisco. It survived the Great Earthquake of 1906 and is rich with history, Edwardian architecture, and even ghost stories. At this boutique hotel in San Francisco, travel back in time, to the turn of the century! With royal bedding draped over the four-poster beds, plush carpeting, soft seating, accent furnishings, and beautiful artwork we aspire to provide only the best for our guests! Our bathrooms are just as unique as our guest rooms! Magenta marbled wash basins, brass faucets, extra large mirrors, antique decorative lighting, textured wall coverings, and of course claw-foot tubs with full-length goose neck showers to preserve the glamour of the Majestic. Recently renovated with modern comforts, all our guestrooms are equipped with flat screen televisions with premium channels, complimentary Wi-Fi, elevated pillow top beds with soft duvet covers and cool pillows, a snack basket and honor bar for purchase, hairdryer, electronic safe, iron and ironing boards, bath robes are just the standard amenities that come in each guest room! ... more   less
