I stayed here for one night during a business trip. I chose this property because, of the upscale hotels in the area, the Westin offered the best rate. The hotel is comprised of the older "landmark building" (where I stayed), as well as a newer tower section. The landmark building has a lot of personality, but is showing its age....

This was my fifth time staying at this hotel,we stay there because of the location. But this time something had changed but can't quite put my finger on it. When you check in you are always greeted with professionalism, waiting time for being served was a little long,I always say for a city hotel you need more reception staff if the...

Excellent room in the Tower. Corner room with 2 windows with different views of the city. Check in and out was easy and the lady at the check in desk was most helpful with advice on how to get around the city. Our room rate also included 2 tickets for the Trolley. EXcellent location with the subway close at hand....

I have heard about this historic hotel my entire life. The lobby is spectacular, and the Christmas decorations are fabulous. However, there were certain problems. The interior rooms are small and dark. There was only one restaurant open for dinner. The water was brown (see pictures). Room services was great, front desk & valet were good as well. I used...

Short ride from SFO - about 25-30 minutes depending on traffic. Beautiful old building, with old world charm. Check in desk has a pretty cool video screen that shows a live feed from just outside the building. When you come to the property, if you come to the Powell Street entrance, keep in mind there is no ramp, so if...

Was here last week and again this week for business travel. Last week stayed in the Tower. Rooms are basic, views are great. Looks like they did a remodel. This is a large hotel and it feels like it. $8 for a large coffee with a shot of espresso in the lobby. Came back again this week and was put...

The big imposing place at the top end of Union Square. Friendly greeting, nice quiet room with a great view (tower suites). A very comfortable bed. A great place to soak up the ambiance of the city. Since its on a really convenient tram route that stops right outside and another within a 100m walk (where the train from the...

Hotel is perfectly located for tourists or business travelers. Room was very large with all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel in San Francisco. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of room service. Admittedly, I rarely order room service as I prefer to eat local, but in a pinch, I got dinner in my room. Lovely! Staff were...

Stayed two nights the weekend after thanksgiving. Saw a favorite cousin and shopped a bit. The public areas of the hotel are historic and unique but our room was quite ordinary. Probably my fault as I requested an upper floor with a view and so ended up in a high rise addition rather than a room in the original part...
