As an SPG Platinum, I wanted to stay at an SPG property on vacation in SF. The W is not like other W properties I have stayed at in terms of decor and I was a little hesitant due to this. It looked a little outdated on pictures. But what a great place this is. The people who work here...

Having a Hotel that basically turns into a club when you return from dinner is pretty cool. The staff at the FOH were very courteous and helpful despite not having a room ready for me. Once I got to my room later in the day I got a very unique modern vibe with the light up Buddha in the office...

Stayed here on biz. Had the "beautiful room" or something equally cliche named. But it was a nice room, with a great view and a comfortable bed. I think the price is very reasonable for the service you get, and I plan on making this place my go to spot in SF on biz.

My husband and I have a soft spot for W hotels as we got married at one, but this W was one of our favorites. The location is great in the SoMa neighborhood - a quick 10 minute bike to the water (we used the new city share bikes both days, very convenient!) The decor is always nice in Ws...

We stayed here 3 nights while visiting San Francisco. It is a little off the beaten path, there are definitely hotels closer to the action, but we got a good deal and it was not too bad. The lobby is tiny - goodness knows what it would be like to check in at a busy time but we got our...

This hotel has a "Green Program" where you agree to not use housekeeping for the environment and they give you 500 points. They claim that you can get out of it at any time by calling down and cancelling it. Well, I signed up.....not really thinking it through. The next day, I thought about it some more and wanted out....

“Make a Green Choice” is meant to help the environment by cutting down on using resources like water and electricity. This isn’t a way for us to cut labor, but rather a way to protect our resources and minimize our footprint. At any time throughout your participation in our green program, you can call our Style team and they will...

Coming from W NY Lexington Ave to W San Francisco was a significant change, I had to wonder what went wrong at W NY when everything at W SFO was what you would expect from a W Experience. An extremely positive experience for the professional courtesy of the staff, I explained that I had just came from W NY with...

Had a 2 night stay here over the long weekend in September. First night was absolutely packed on Saturday night, Sunday was a little less crowded. Just to note, for those who are SPG members, theres at least 4 SPG properties all right next to one another (W, 2 Westins and the Palace). Parking at the hotel is the normal...

I booked five rooms for our group here at the W San Francisco and we all had Fabulous Corner rooms on high floors overlooking the city and the bay bridge lights. Rooms were well kept and very chic' in decor. Coffee makers and huge flat screen TV's. Bliss amenities in the bathrooms were great along with a fully stocked refrigerator...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
