A great old hotel which has been restored with care. In the heart of Greeneville it really looks nice inside and out. Rooms were clean and nice. Would recommend this over all other motels or lodging in the area. Downtown is a quiet area at night.

I did not stay overnight at this hotel but I did eat a buffet lunch served on a Sunday which was excellent and the seating area very attractive and cozy. It was a little on the expensive side ($20) plus tax but worth the very tasty food and friendly and helpful service that I received there.

The history of this lovely property is a powerful testament to the people of Greeneville and their appreciation of the past. The hotel almost didn't make it several times; the good people of the town pitched in and made it happen, which is a good thing, as this is a centerpiece of the town's history and a significant landmark. I...

Pros: Beautiful historic hotel, comfortable and quiet rooms Cons: Floors are not all at one level and some rooms require climbing stairs Tip: Ask for a room that can be reached by elevator, ask for a room with a view other than a brick wall This is a beautifully maintained, old, historic hotel. Like many historic hotels this one has...

The General Morgan Inn was an unexpected and most welcomed surprise. From the moment we called for a reservation, we were treated with patience, courteousness, and kindness. The reservations staff were also helpful in giving us instructions on driving to the back of the hotel which is really the entrance. First impressions are so important, and the General Morgan Inn...

Take a step back in time with this amazing hotel. It's fancy flare is definitely a juxtaposition to the quant surroundings. The ballroom and terrace make for the perfect locations for parties and events while the rooms are upscale and nicely furnished. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The entire area is very hospitable.

This hotel is awesome. I had tried to stay at another "chain" hotel in the area and could not get a government rate as my trip was business related. However, the General Morgan Inn was more than happy to honor the government rate and boy am I glad they did. This is a awesome older hotel, some of the friendliest...

I travel quite frequently, some nationally, but mostly in the Southeast region. I am blessed to be able to stay in some of the nicer facilities in those areas. Relatively speaking, especially when considering price point, I would consider the General Morgan Inn an exceptional value. Folks, this place is nice, four star by any standard and quite possibly five...

Nicest people ever!! Restaurant was also very good, but closes at 9. Good WiFi and the HVAC fan will actually blow constantly when set to "on". Really helped me sleep soundly. Great fireplace in lobby. Coffee shop in hotel.

So this is an older hotel with small rooms, creaky floors and slow elevators. But it is very clean, the folks running the place are as nice as they can be and the beds are quite comfortable. I love the older style furniture and the room setup. I was here by myself on business so the room size was not...
