We previewed the camp ground before making our reservation to see which sites would fit our 2 families. We chose those toward the end of the road for more privacy. Good call as there were some loud late night campers closer to the bath house and caretakers trailer. You can't specifically reserve sites but you can put in a request,...

My friend and I stayed here over the weekend and I was nervous given some of the reviews but was very pleased with our stay. We booked a 4 person basic cabin which was very clean and had just enough of what we needed (small fridge, coffee maker, AC). The view of the river was gorgeous, the service (Petie) was...

I think this is the best view I've ever had camping. It's right on the river. It's very peaceful. Petey and Heather are awesome camp host. Yes the train wakes you up and the zip liners are overhead, but the view is worth it! Harper's Ferry is a great destination. We loved biking the C and O tow path.

For k$34 for a riverside barebones (fire ring, table, shade trees) this place was quite enjoyable. An active train track nearby was basically "white noise" (nobody in our party was annoyed by it, but then we are all accustomed to "sounds that go "bump" in the nite". We could see the C&O canal towpath across the river from our campsite,...

Very pretty, on the river. Activities are close by if you want to take advantage of those. A train goes through at least once a night and it's loud. The bathrooms are the worst I've ever endured. I have to say, I'm one who will create both positive as well as negative posts. I don't like to harp on the...

I was nervous about our trip to Harper's Ferry campground after reading the bad reviews here. To say the least, the train noise is very bad. It's loud and when you're in a tent at night, it feels like you are about to be run over by the approaching train. We took our dog with us and she was startled...

This campground is horrendous. Save yourselves and do not stay here. In order of "most likely to ruin your trip", the reasons are: 1. Freight train: The campground is about 70 feet wide, from riverbank to steep hill. 30 feet up the steep hill (right over your heads) is an active, 24-hour freight train track. The train starts blowing its...

While it is a pretty site (next to the river), I would never stay here again. The trains going by the site (literally right next to the grounds) multiple times per hour and throughout the night made for a horrible night sleep, even with earplugs. Given how much they charge for the site ($37 for three adults!!), one would expect...

Wow! Great place to camp! Views are fantastic right on the water. They have a campground manager named Petey who made our trip. He meets and greets everyone there and makes sure everyone is happy and has what they need. If you have a big rig you do have to go around a 11 foot bridge which adds a few...

Wow, we pulled in with our brand new camper late on Friday evening. Petey was there to help us and offer guidance and advice. There was a mix up with electric service and Petey along with River Riders made things right. There was noise but after the 1st night we all were used to it. Petey and his wife were...
