I found out about the Lazy Lizard from a sign while driving down the main street. I was in a bind as it was getting late, the closest campsites were full and I didnt want to pay $79+ just for somewhere to pee & sleep for a night. It was not easy to find in the dark as the location...

This hostel reminds me of many other fun hostels I've stayed while backpacking in Australia and New Zealand. So if you happened to have traveled there, you get the idea. Except this is America, so you can park your car in front of the cabin. It has cosy cabins and the bathroom and restroom facilities are outside. You have to...

First the good: 1. The staff are quite friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate you, have a good knowledge of the area and will go out of their way to help you out. 2. The building is kept clean. They clean the bathrooms, kitchen and rooms daily. They even made my bed for me! Now...

There's a big difference between a hostel and a hotel and I feel a lot more comfortable in the latter. The Lazy Lizard is situated behind a storage facility off the main street in Moab and feels very industrial. It's difficult to find, but only a couple of miles from the main tourist area. It's very dark so if you're...

Well this isn't an entirely unfair review. (if I was going to quibble I would point out the the cabins are 12 x 12 or 12 x 14, not 9x9, but they are not overly large) We have known for a long time that The Lazy Lizard is not for everybody. There will always be those people who prefer the...

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights when we went to visit Arches and Canyonlands. The location is great - just a mile from the Moab Brewery where we ate 3 times! The room was small but clean and there was a plug in electric heater that warmed the room up for the cool nights. Only complaints with the...

My husband and I have stayed 4 times at the Lazy Lizard. If you are roughing it, don't care about special amenities, and want a quiet, safe place to sleep, this is the one. We have always chosen the cabins to spend the night, and they are spacious, clean, with heating and air-conditioning, and very basic. The bathrooms need some...

A light, small table, bench and full size bed was all we had in our private log cabin and that was all we needed. Cabins have a shared community bathroom and shower building for men and women. We stayed 2 nights. There is multiple refrigerators in the main building along with eating area, computer, wifi and microwave which all guests...

I spent four nights in Moab, in Sept of 2014, primary purpose of which was to visit Arches & canyonlands National Parks. Most Moab properties tend to be a bit on the pricy side, so i checked out the "Lazy Lizard" ( LL) I had never stayed at a hostel before, & being in my 50's, had no desire to...

I've stayed in several hostels around the world, and this was possibly the best I've ever stayed in. A friend and I reserved a private room for two, which came out to about $17 each. Best price in Moab! The room was very small and certainly nothing fancy, but the bunk bed was all I needed for the brief one-night...

I stayed here on October 2007 so I can tell you about my experience in that year, but I found this hostel really comfortable, I met nice people and my private room was very clean. Bathroom was in common and it was clean too. The atmosphere was great and position is fantastic, few minutes by car from Arches NP. If...
