Texas has a mountain range in Big Bend National Park. The Chisos Mountain Lodge is a great place to hang out with family and check out the sites and trails. It is the best home base but requires reservation many months in advance. We have stayed in good weather and bad; having a great time in either. Next visit to... More

This is the only hotel in Big Bend National Park and is centrally located in the Chisos Mountain area of the park, which is closest to many of the high-traffic hikes and sights. Is it luxury accommodations? No. Is it clean, and more than a little rustic? Probably. The bathrooms appear to have never been updated since they were built... More

We recently stayed at the chisos mountain lodge. This is the only hotel you will find in Big Bend National Park. We stayed in the Emory Peak section rm 114. It is an army barrack type room, made of cinderblocks. The bathroom was very old, but clean. There were two chairs, both of them were stained. No TV( which I... More

Stayed 2 nights at Chisos . Good location but the units need a bit of an upgrade . Given that they are pretty well booked for a large part of the year and you do have to book well in advance. Really enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Restaurant menu needs a major overhaul with say a bit more... More

Stayed here 3 nights, in a different place each night, due to relying on cancellations to get a reservation. First off, if you don't want to spend half the day in the car getting to and from the places in the park you want to see, stay here. 1st night we had room 209 in Casa Grande. Worst view ever,... We called on oct. 24th at the lodge. We called the same day and they got us a room the same day. Couldn't believe how lucky we were! We were traveling cross country and this is one of our favorite stops. The room was great. Clean and great location in the park. Who cares about no tv. Can't we all... More

Very disappointing, especially for the price. Definitely could use an updating - and maybe even a bottle or two of water to keep guests hydrated. With all the surrounding beauty, this lodge could offer more. Just FYI, our room had a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave but there's no TV or WIFI. We were on the first floor of... More

Rooms are nice, a little old and worn but just right for a place to stay in the Park. Lounge is good and staff at both lounge and restaurant are great. There is a store located in the basin that has just about anything you might need to hike or camp out.

Wow, I didn't know there was such places in Texas. The stars and scenery were absolutely breath taking. The meals at the Lodge were also very tasty. It is very secluded and no internet in the rooms but personally that was a refreshing change of pace for me.

Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed your time with us! Big Bend has the darkest skies in the lower 48, so star gazing is definitely one of the draws here! We hope you'll come stay with us again soon. -Chisos Mountains Lodge More
