After returning home from New Zealand my husband and I heartily agreed that Otahuna alone was worth the long-haul flights from the Southern US. We enjoyed many sights and experiences on the South Island, but Otahuna will live in our hearts forever. The staff was perfection, the accommodations amazing. Our every desire was met save one -- we wanted to...

From the moment we arrived at Otahuna Lodge, we knew our wedding would without a doubt be held at this beautiful Victorian Lodge nestled amongst Banks Peninsula in Tai Tapu, south of Christchurch. Lodge staff were waiting on the doorstep as we drove up the gorgeous driveway over 20 months ago. A very surreal and magical feeling being treated like...

NZ never fails in its clarion call for experiences outta' of the ordinary and consistently get it right. When you think of thriving centres blessed with rolling pastureland and the prettiest villages and no ugly sprawl, tis pointy end of luxury gets no better than this 1895 beauty set in an extinct volcano valley outside of Christchurch. What this lodge...

The couple who own Otahuna treat it like their home, and the small and closely knit group of staff as family - and it shows. The property is immaculate, the service is some of the best we have ever experienced (the staff actually want to be at work!!), and the food.... Jimmy and his team have a bit of a...

We have been fortunate to stay in many of the top Lodges across NZ. Otahuna Lodge ranks at the very top of our list for four main reasons - * Staff * Cuisine * Amazing historic home * Location and grounds Arranging our reservations was Front Office Manager - Renee who was a pleasure to deal with. She was both...

Highly recommend this to kiwis and tourists alike. A real treat, and very convenient to Christchurch airport for those of you flying in/out of there on the way to/from Queenstown. Lots of character here.

Absolutely spectacular property obviously run by passionate people! Impossible to fault the very relaxed, but very attentive, service provided by all the staff from arrival through to departure. Room was superb with a fantastic view over the beautify maintained property, with excellent meals and snacks being prepared and served in wonderfully set-out dinning rooms and lounge areas. What a treat! Even before we arrived the correspondence by email was friendly and professional. When we arrived however we were welcomed by the owners themselves who kindly showed us around the property as well as carried our bags. The Lodge has been tastefully refurbished in keeping of the original character of the house. Our names were remembered by every...

It is rare indeed to discover a resting place of such quality. We were surprised and delighted at the attention to detail in this grand old mansion. From our arrival onwards we were made to feel special. Our every whim catered for generously and efficiently in immaculate surroudings which are a credit to Miles and Hall the owners. There is...

My husband and I were lucky enough to win this trip via a group home company we are building with. From start to finish our time at Otahuna was fantastic. You are greeted at the main door and shown around the various rooms. We were told to treat it as we would our own home. We met with the others...
