What can anyone say other than Miles and Hall are wonderful hosts and Otahuna is perfection! All of the staff (kudos to Heather) wanted our stay to be perfect and it really was. Miles and Hall want you to be comfortable at Otahuna... I went out each day on day outings and returned late. I really didn't want to dress...

We (couple) stayed at Otahuna Lodge in Feb 2016 for two nights as a part of our 2 weeks long holiday in New Zealand. The Good: 1) Property: From the moment we stepped in Otahuna property, we have been nothing but wowed!! The lodge has its beautifully manicured lawn at the front and vegetable garden at the back. The heritage...

There are not enough words to explain how wonderful this Lodge is. It is a historic house. When we first arrived we were greeted by Miles, one of the owners, and another member of the staff. They opened the car doors for us and gave us a wonderful welcome. When we entered we were offered a drink and a tour...

We have stayed here for a few nights each year for the past few years and it never fails to delight. The attention to detail is second to non, the food is simply devine, coupled with superb wines and a beautiful historical setting. We will return again next year too. Every superlative offered by previous reviewers is justified. Otahuna is one of the finest lodges we've stayed at in the world. The beautiful lodge and its grounds, the flawless and exemplary service, the creative, deliciously crafted meals, the focused attention to detail, the thoughtful orchestration of social gatherings where the guests get to know one another, the sense of history...

We drove in a hire car from Christchurch airport and the place itself is basically in the sticks, in a positive way. We were met at the entrance to the house and shown around this well preserved and very grand house whilst our luggage and car were looked after. Pre dinner drinks were at 6.30pm and we arrived promptly to...

We visited here in Dec 2014 and returned here in January 2016 to find that the high standards had been maintained, nay improved. Flying in by helicopter we could see the pristine white paint on the gables of the house from several miles away. From the moment of touchdown to the last wave goodbye the entire team here know just...

This is our second stay in what is one of the best hotels in the world. Four days of impeccable service and unparalleled attention to detail in this beautiful building, one of the most ancient in the country but restored to perfection by Miles and Hall. All the staff are incredibly friendly as they obviously enjoy and appreciate working in...

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute at this lodge. They have experienced staff who anticipate every need. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Jimmy is the best chef in New Zealand. We traveled the country eating fantastic food, but this was the best by far. I will return.

Where to start with this review? Otahuna is a MUST go for resplendent, relaxed luxury. Here's why..... Otahuna Lodge is a small (7 rooms) luxury lodge owned and operated by the hosts (Hall and Miles) who are the most warm and welcoming hosts you could hope to meet on your travels.
