I have been wanting to check out this Curio Collection hotel for some time. I LOVE when old properties are turned into modern hotels, and this place did that beautifully by connecting old historic buildings with modern ones. The result is a stunning property with beautiful accommodations matched by outstanding service and location. The stay exceeded my expectations! By the time we arrived, the property was sold out. We booked on Honors points, and considering the steep rates, we got a great value on the points redemption, in my opinion. We booked the standard king room, the Foundry King. These are located in the new buildings, but you can book a Foundry Historic King — same room style in the historic buildings — or other room types including King Corner Suites. They also have an absolutely incredible penthouse which sits alone on the fifth floor and has two bedrooms and its own outdoor terrace. Prior to check in, I reached out about upgrades (Diamond here), and we were upgraded to a King Corner Suite. I checked in on the app, and for this room type, there are two different floor plans: historic suites in building E that are more secluded (Ex05) or “new construction” suites in building B (Bx09). We had the historic and our friends had the other floor plan. Both were beautiful, functional, and roomy. I would choose the historic on the top floor again if given the choice. Rooms feature robes, an umbrella, a steamer, a Nespresso machine and water pot for tea, a mini fridge (with two water bottles), and depending on the room, remote-controlled curtains. The decor, bedding, bathrooms — all nicely done. There was good attention to detail (ex: the way towels were placed in the bathroom), and everything was very clean. The bathroom was spotless, and there were nice toiletries. I appreciated that the mirrors did not fog up when the shower was on. We had zero noise issues on the top floor but I could see how that could be an issue in rooms below (wood floors). You can use a digital key, but the physical keys are really cool and look and feel like playing cards. I wish I had been able to better control the AC; you can change the temp, but I think the units are tied together in the building, and we got a little toasty at night. Also, if you have large windows, keep the curtains closed throughout the day to keep it cool. Arrival and check in felt very upscale and on par with the luxury feel and cost of the hotel. The valet, the lobby attendants, the front desk — everyone was very warm and welcoming. The front desk agent welcomed us as Diamond members and was super informative. Champagne is offered to all guests at check in., and we got a welcome letter clearly explaining the COVID protocols from the GM. Housekeeping is available upon request by appointment. Parking is valet only at $27/night, and they were very efficient. Diamonds get $15/person/day credit for breakfast, but we did not eat breakfast, and the credit cannot be used for other times of the day. There is also a Tesla house car that is available if you need a ride, though most of downtown is walkable. The lounge (as in bar and lounge — not executive) is beautiful, and they have one side that is more for bar service and another that is full service. There are also several outdoor seating areas. We didn’t get any food, and while the lounge had a great atmosphere and good service, I was not impressed with the cocktails for the price. They were not bad — to be clear — but neither of the ones I had were to my taste. Regardless, it was a nice place to hang out with friends. The only glitch we had was confusion about parking; we paid for parking on our room for our friend’s car we rode in. At check out, we had both been charged, and it took a few minutes to get it sorted. No big deal, and they were happy to fix it. Overall, I would count this in my top few hotel stays in the US ever, and we would be thrilled to stay here again.

My husband surprised me for our 1st anniversary w/a trip to Ashville. We stayed at The Foundry for 2 nights & it was perfect. Exceptional service from everyone. The valets, bellmen, front desk, bar tenders and oh so helpful concierge (Brittany) provided nothing but first class service. Our room was beautiful and extremely well appointed. We had a king room in the B building with stunning views of the old church next door. All the little details from the hot pot to make fresh tea to a steamer for clothes and even the thought to equip the rooms w/an umbrella. The bar provided a great place to try some unique craft cocktails. The outdoor space w/fire pits and Bennies restaurant were a perfect complement to our hotel experience. From the warm welcome with champagne upon check in to the fond farewell provided by the bellman, this was the perfect place for our 1st anniversary. We hope to celebrate many more here.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in March for a weekend getaway. The hotel is in a nice location, walkable to lots of downtown restaurants and attractions. The hotel itself is lovely, with rooms having big windows and decent views of the city. We’d stay here again!

The Foundry is a gorgeous property filled with beautiful furniture and amenities and truly friendly and helpful staff. Gabe and Destiny at the door who helped us with our bags recognized us and our dogs every time we came through the lobby and greeted us like family. The hotel is in a perfect location close to downtown and the great restaurants (Curate, Sovereign Remedies, Rhubarb) and equally close to the Brewery District. We valet parked the car but never really needed it because we walked everywhere. You do have to request housekeeping - like everywhere during Covid - but they kept us well stocked with fresh towels, soap, water and nespresso pods. Some have commented about the mask policy but it is the same as anywhere. Wear a mask when you're walking to and from your room. We had drinks a few times and meals twice while in the lounge and on the beautiful courtyard patio and we didn't wear our masks while seated and no one cared. They are far from unreasonable. The pet policy is very generous. We brought our two large Labradors and there was just one flat fee. There is a great park right around the corner that has bags etc... Our dogs quickly got used to walking up to the front desk for a treat when they came back inside, which the team was always happy to provide. Overall we were very pleased and expect to return.
