We were in town to tour "The Biltmore", naturally, and because this Marriott was close by to the entrance we chose it. Stayed 3 nights. Our room and lobby was very clean and updated. But most impressed with the staff; especially Erica. Also enjoyed sitting in the courtyard in the evening sipping wine by the fire table. Only slight disappointment was that the actual courtyard with firepit was in a small completely enclose space and that was due to hotel's location.
My husband and I just stayed the night at this hotel, and we were very pleased. It is relatively new, thus the room and lobby were fresh and clean. In addition, our bed was very comfortable and there is a bistro in lobby that serves Starbucks!
The facility was new and clean. Front desk staff was pleasant. We asked the bartender for nearby restaurant recommendations. He said he didn’t know any area other than downtown. We walked to The Bohemian and it was great. I thought what a lack of initiative on his part. There was a list of nearby restaurants at the front desk. Loser.
Hotel itself is nice. Location is not. A train track is across the street with train horns blaring through the night. There are also lots of sirens headed to the hospital up the street and general road noise from the street itself during the night and early morning. Location is not that walkable for Biltmore village. Other than all that... it's fine.
We made our reservation at Marriott's web site a month ahead of time and received a decent rate for this nice hotel. They weren't able to honor my Suite Night Awards (SNA) but the room we received was still very spacious and nice. Check In was handled by a young woman named Elya at the Front Desk.. She was friendly but could have enhanced the experience by using my name and recognizing my status on Marriott Bonvoy. She did explain the $10 arrival gift and we took a certificate which we used as a credit for breakfast on our last day. There was a sign at the Desk that explained that housekeeping service was only on request. I asked that we receive daily housekeeping for our 3 night stay. Guest room was very nice and spacious. I love that a refrigerator and microwave is included along with a single cup coffee brewer. The bathroom was also a nice size, with a stand up shower. The only negative was that the shower stall doesn't fully close and water comes out onto the floor. I enjoyed the single serve amenity. We asked for extra decaf at the Desk and was provided as much as I wanted. We loved the Exercise Room. Finally a Courtyard with an excellent facility that was spacious and had numerous pieces of equipment. This Courtyard had a bar and food ordering area. While we didn't enjoy cocktails we did order breakfast on our last day. It isn't waitress service for breakfast, you order at the cash register and they bring it to you. It was fine we found it a bit pricey. The only issue we encountered was that on our first day we didn't have our room cleaned as requested. I was able to obtain clean towels but it was disappointing to come back from playing tourist at 6Pm to our unmade room. This was rectified on our next day after I asked a couple of people at the desk. Overall a nice stay and we can recommend this hotel. It was a bit noisy from time to time both inside the hotel and noisy from the vehicles outside. Especially when a loud mufflerless car revved up their engine at 1 AM. The hotel is doing a good job with covid requirements, requiring masks, sanitizer available, recommendations for only 1 family in an elevator. All staff were wearing masks. Please commend the housekeeping staff for their overall hospitality. Although I didn't get their names as many were not wearing nametags, they were always engaging whenever we encountered them in the hallways or waiting for an elevator.…
