Hotel is very centrally located in Downtown Asheville! You can very easily walk (or at least take a very quick Uber ride) to TONS of attractions including great shopping, the science museum, and of course some of best breweries in the state! Rooms could use a little updating, but it was great for what it was! Highly recommend specifically for anyone looking for a quick weekend getaway if you’re wanting to explore Downtown Asheville! Pro tip: check out Red Ginger just down the road. Best dim sum I’ve ever had!
Some of the reviews that I read prior to booking here said it was great and a great location. I could not disagree more! I had a perfect view of drug deals and homelessness out my window and the room was dark and creepy. There was a gap around the door letting the cold air in and you could not adjust the temperature in the room above a certain temp. It was so bad that I left and stayed somewhere else. It was also my first time to Asheville and I was surprised at how dirty it was downtown with litter and such. There are much nicer places to stay for less just up the road in Biltmore Village.
This hotel is next to the bus station. The soup kitchen and the Salvation Army homeless shelter. So unless or into people begging you for money food or cigarettes you might want to fine another hotel.
I booked this hotel through booking.com for a two night getaway for myself and my fiance. I received a call from the hotel advising that they would have to cancel my reservation due to the fact that I am a local. I live 2 hours away. The girl I spoke with at the front desk was incredibly rude and unaccommodating. I won't be making a reservation here in the future, apparently I can't if I wanted to.
Quick check-in, very courteous desk. Parking is cramped but there's spill-over parking about 1/4 block away. it was raining and said I could put my luggage on a Valet left it with them, and then took my car to the remote parking area. They offered an umbrella and sure made things easier. Very clean room and updated with outlets, USB ports at the desk, and bed. Coffee, microwave, and fridge. Let me borrow an umbrella all day so I could visit my wife. Restaurants and brewpubs nearby and many deliver via Grub-Hub. I have a 3rd floor, a street-facing room, and the traffic is a little noisy, but hardly any when I went to bed.
