The house is stately and charming. We loved our room and the front porch in the evenings. (Gorgeous wicker set makes it a super spot to sit, sip, and listen to the birds.) These folks are VERY serious about Covid safety, so you can rest assured they are taking great care of you and their staff. We'd love to return! : )
The breakfasts are really delicious! Served at your table promptly, and with accommodations for dietary restrictions and allergies, etc. The rooms are beautiful. The large wrap around front porch with comfortable seating is always available, and plentiful coffee, tea, cookies (and even wine in the late afternoon) is a great touch. We used the large parlor in the main house for relaxing and reading. Lots of effort into cleanliness. We were there during the Coronavirus time and the staff provided hand Sanitizers, wipes and gloves. It was a delightful stay and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Try the Pisgah suite, which is an apartment in a building behind the main house. It has a large kitchen. Great space for a longer visit.
We enjoyed our stay, as usual. Loved our room and the opportunity to stay for a great price. We felt safe and well taken care of the entire time we were there. Our meals were wonderful and we we saw staff, they were attentive & friendly. Best: cleaniness, environment was so charming, relaxing Area to improve: I think it would have been great to have a jug of water in the fridge (even though there was water from the sink, idk I just think it would be nice to have a jug in the fridge) for the day.
My husband and I stayed at Hill House for our getaway to the mountains of Ashville. We absolutely loved our room. It was decorated beautifully and had warm inviting decor. Conveniently located close to downtown and the Biltmore.
First of all, the house was just adorable. It's not hard to find, but it's tucked back away from the road so you still have that sense of privacy while you're there. We stayed in the Kress room and the pictures online really did not do it justice. It was a much larger space than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise. There was a large bedroom area with a small breakfast nook, a small dressing area with a closet and dresser, and a surprisingly large bathroom with a nice claw foot tub. If there is just one thing I would recommend to add for a more comfortable experience, it would be possibly adding a step stool or some sort of leverage for the tub. I'm quite short and it was humorous each time I tried to step in and out of the tub to shower. I've never used a claw foot tub before, so I had no idea how high off the ground they were, so the struggle was a little real for me. I just think if there was a small platform for leverage, it might help shorter guests such as myself not risk slipping into the tub. The bed was comfortable with plenty of blankets (including extra in the closet if we had needed it). The weather was nice and mild while we were there, so we really didn't use the heater. The ceiling fan pushed out just enough air to keep things circulating, which was fine for us. There was a small fridge and microwave in the cabinet near the bed and the TV was on a long arm that allowed it to extend out so it could be seen from the bed. We splurged since it was my birthday and ordered the upgraded breakfast that included snacks for however many days we desired. When we got there, we had the snacks as well as wine, juice, and milk waiting for us. We thought that was quite nice. The snack tray was good with vegetables and cheese and hummus. If we had been in our room more, we really would have chowed down on it! The breakfast was delightful every day. For two mornings, we received the upgraded breakfast, and I will say, it was worth the extra expense. The amount of food we received was more than enough to fill us for the morning. I think the sundried tomato frittata was our favorite. Each breakfast came with a main and then fruit sides. One of the days we received bacon, which delighted my bacon-loving husband! The standard breakfast was just as good, though, if someone doesn't feel like splurging. Truthfully, this was our first B&B experience ever, and it was just so nice not to have to hunt for food in the mornings! The B&B is on a contactless system right now, which we thought worked out nicely. We received a text the morning of our arrival with information regarding where our keys would be and where to park--very helpful. Everything was precisely as described, both on the website and in the instructions we received in our packet. We even asked if we could change the method of payment to a different card and we just took care of that over the phone. It gave us a nice sense of relief not to worry about coming in contact with so many people at the B&B since we were sure we'd be doing that enough on our adventures throughout Asheville! Long story short, this was a great first B&B experience. The house was charming and the room was comfortable. We only ever spoke with Riley, the manager, but he was just as pleasant and friendly as can be. If ever we return to Asheville, we will definitely remember this place!…
