Stayed for 4 days and was very impressed. Excellent service by all. Very clean and well maintained. Restaurant has great food and service. They don't want you to leave hungry. Was really impressed with the shrimp tacos. Breakfast was enough for two. Oh yes, the bartender! Excellent Rye Old Fashioned. Great stay very satisfied.
Loved the open lobby and huge fireplace! Indoor tennis courts were top notch, clay courts looked great! Outstanding customer service by all of the staff! Very clean! Indoor and outdoor pools, great place for families!
My husband and I were traveling with our Labs and originally booked at the Kimpton (which is amazing) but decided to switch to the Crowne Plaza because we felt it would be easier with the dogs. Taking an elevator and looking for a spot of grass downtown was not appealing to us in winter. Our King Executive room at the Crowne Plaza was surprisingly large and we were pleased to have a ground level walk out. It made potty breaks super easy. The room had a sofa and a chair with an ottoman and did not feel crowded. The bathroom is tiny by comparison but it was recently updated. There is a tiny fridge and microwave in the room. Lobby bar is cozy and has a beautiful fireplace. The staff at this hotel could not have been nicer. Kim was so helpful and kind and we appreciated every interaction with her. All other staff members were friendly and professional. Keep in mind that due to covid, you will not be getting daily maid service. This is just life as we know it now and any hotel that cares about safety is doing it. We put our trash outside our room and it magically disappeared. If you need fresh towels or more coffee, just ask. The downtown shuttle was great. We were able to take the dogs downtown and try some breweries without worrying about transportation. We were only a few minutes from the Biltmore, the Arboretum and downtown. I would highly recommend this gem of a hotel. …
We stayed for one night in the “Looking Glass” Wing of the hotel. It was quiet, the staff were all very nice... and the room seemed clean enough... BUT our room was in desperate need of updating. The wall paper was literally peeling off of the walls! It made it feel shabby and was definitely not what was pictured on the website. It seemed run down and we kept wondering if we were out in an older part of the hotel... because of that and for the price we paid, we would not choose this hotel again.
We checked in Thursday and left Sunday. We had no housekeeping service for our entire stay. We had wet towels, overflowing trash, paper coffee cups that we had to reuse our entire stay. Ever used a paper cup for 3 days? And the sink in the bathroom was clogged and took 30minutes to drain.
