My family stayed for 2 nights in late March. We’d never been to Asheville or seen the Biltmore before. We spent a 1/2 day touring the Biltmore and another 1/2 day walking around downtown Asheville and had a great time doing both. As for the hotel, it was very clean and nice and overall met or exceeded expectations. Only complaint was the limited hours for seemingly everything. The shops closed at 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon and the coffee shop didn’t open until 8 a.m. on Saturday. I guess it’s still their off-season, though there were a lot of people on property, so we were a little perplexed why everywhere we tried to go, it seems, we were met with a “Closed” sign. We did have 2 nice dinners on property, though and the winery is very nice. Overall, we’d definitely stay here again, but hopefully things will be in fuller swing than they were last weekend.

I recently stayed at the Village Hotel for a girls weekend and we had a great experience! We had a 2 room /1 bedroom suite with 2 double beds and 2 pull-out beds for the 4 of us which was fine. The pull-out beds were surprisingly comfy and the room was very nice. It included coffee (keurig) makers for each room, CO Bigalow bath products, board games, a generous seating area and it was all stylishly decorated. We didn't require much in the way of service, but felt all the staff were friendly and accommodating. We liked the set up of the whole village area: while not a ton, you had dining and shopping choices within walking distance as well as lots of outdoor spaces to sit, play or enjoy a beverage. Speaking of beverage, we enjoyed the complimentary wine-tasting and had no problem getting a reservation for a Saturday. The only thing it lacked was the shuttle service which is temporarily canceled due to COVID (as of 3/ 14). I hope they get that back going soon. Overall, a great stay!

There is no question that The Biltmore Estate is one of the premier properties in the world to visit. One can never spend enough time touring the mansion. The history is fascinating. And there is no question that the Biltmore Inn is also a 5 star hotel. So if you are looking for a top notch get away at a fabulous property for relaxation plan your stay for the Inn. This trip we decided to try the Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate and we are sorry we did. I didn’t expect it to be the same quality as the Inn but I hoped for something better than a Holiday Inn type motel. The whole experience here is just lacking. Nothing at all classy about this facility. It feels very plain and unwelcoming. The employees were pleasant enough and the coffee shop on the lobby level was a pleasure. Alpine village and the winery are easily accessible from this location. Plenty of parking. The rooms are set up for sleeping only. No chairs to relax in after a long day walking around. I don’t know why Queen sized mattresses couldn’t be provided for the double rooms. Spend the money and stay at the Inn.

The hotel was super crowded Saturday night before Valentine’s Day, making it hard to socially distance in the lobby. Though staff were all masked, guests got up from the family style table after ordering from the cafe in the lobby massless. Modern rooms and amenities were great and clean. After the crowd left, social distancing was easy and it was delightful. Front desk staff were courteous and knowledgeable. Grounds are amazing but definitely a trip to do in the spring, summer or fall, not the winter
