We spent two nights here during our visit to Asheville. The hotel personnel were very pleasant and helpful for all our needs. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate and the coffee was very good. Our room was clean with a feel of ozark charm. The price was very good. We will probably stay again on our next visit...

I stayed at this motel just one night. I was attracted by the old-fashioned theme, complete with swinging wooden doors and chairs outside your room to enjoy a smoke. My room was clean and adequately furnished, though a bit small. I liked the paneling on the walls; it was a nice break from chain hotel rooms, which are often plain...

My family of 4 ended up having to get a room here at the last minute. We had made reservations for the weekend at a different hotel, but something happened and the original place had no room for us. It was Friday evening and Mountaineer Inn was the only place with vacancies. They should not be allowed to charge more...

I read the review first and the last couple months stated it was clean. I knew it was an older hotel so wasnt't sure. We still booked for two nights and very pleased! It is in a GREAT location! The room is dated but very clean. The staff were nice and helpful. They do not provide little soaps and shampoo...

My wife and I were in Asheville to visit the Biltmore Mansion and picked this place cuz it was cheap. But it was great. This place will take you back to the time when little motels like this dotted the country before the Comfort Inns, Marriots and Hiltons took over. The rooms are small (cozy), clean and need updating. But...

I was traveling through Asheville alone and was lucky enough to find a room here on New Year's Day. I was welcomed with a complementary breakfast and the service was very thoughtful in giving me a room right next to the front office since I was by myself. I decided to come back to the Mountaineer Inn on my trip...

I love the kind of Beverly Hillbillies look of this place, and the location is perfect if you're going to try to take in Asheville in a few days. Lots of restaurants and destinations are close by, including the Biltmore and surroundings, a large, new mall, and the spectacular Grove Park Inn. Close to downtown as well. If you love...

Hello and many thanks! I am glad I could personally persuade you to stay with us, and even happier that you were pleased with the room, the staff and the breakfast. We still are improving our property after many years of decline. I hope we get to see you often when you come to town to visit your family!

This kitschy little motel is a beautiful relic from the past, replete with eye catching neon signs that make for excellent photo and selfie ops for the folks back home. The rooms each have refrigerators and coffee makers, which make your stay more convenient if you are anything like us and plan to come home at night with leftovers from...

Hello valued guest! We appreciate your very nice review, including the comments about our owner. We are trying to get back to that type of business, where we see "regulars" often and treat them like family. We have continued to make improvements this year after many years of the motel falling into decline. I hope others read your review and...

Traveling the length of the skyline drive-BlueRidge parkway, this was the 5th town/city we stayed in. All of the hotels/motels we chose were in the under $80 price point. The other spots were Waynesboro, Va; Roanoke, Va; Sparta, NC; Blowing Rock, NC. The other motels, were clean; those that were old, had been maintained or updated. The Mountaineer Inn has...

Dear guest, Thank you for taking time to give us a review and comparison study for other establishments like ourselves. We are very aware of our shortcomings. Our property has been in business since the 1940's. Our owner has been here since 1964. Unfortunately the business seriously declined over the last 10 years before new management took over last year....
