When we first drove up to the hotel, we were a bit aghast at the location: stuck between a major intersection, a freeway and a metro. But once you close the hotel door, everything is left behind and the hotel is actually very quiet. Feels like a small old fashion hotel, in a beautiful old building, with modern amenities. We...

We recently had to spend a couple of days in Boston for eye surgery. We had to be at the hospital early so we were advised from the hospital about this hotel, due to its close proximity to Mass General and relatively low price. I am so glad we took it. Its an older building but it has all the...

I was looking for a place to stay after a Red Sox game so I wouldn't have to drive home and then back into Boston for an early business meeting. Hotels were all booked or outrageously priced, and I didn't want to stay in a hostel or other place with shared bathroom. The John Jeffries came up on a "Best...

Basic, suited my needs. I was in town for business, and for some reason there were no rooms available for less than $500. I found the John Jeffries House, and the price was right. I had a room in the basement, and it was fine. After a long day of meetings, I just wanted to relax in my room. But...

It is also very close to a number of good restaurants along beacon street and supermarkets, delis, drugstores are all within walking distance. The rooms are very spacious and beds very comfortable. our two twin beds and kitchenette were comfy and clean! we had a basement room, and upon arrival, the windows had been left open, which provided a lovely breeze with the unexpected scent of some nearby flowering trees - wish we could have bottled that scent - it really made for a lovely stay! We had a super quick check...

A friend and I were making a not-planned-much-in-advance trip to Boston, and appalled at the hotel prices. We stumbled upon this place and booked it. Best decision ever! Caddy-corner from the T stop, so very handy for exploring the city. One side is Charles street, fun to walk around on with plenty of restaurants. The other side, over a pedestrian...

I was visiting Fisher College with my daughter. This place is a short walk from the school. I was in a studio room that was priced reasonably. I think this is one of the cleanest places I have stayed. It reminded me of my favorite B & B in Switzerland. The reception area and the two ladies there were so...

This is a lovely hotel and had the best price for the quality and location, which was very convenient to the Back Bay and the North End. It is accurately represented on their website. It's an interesting walk past shops and restaurants down Charles Street to Boson Commons where we could hop on the Duck Tours to go to other...

I stayed here May 18 - 19 staying in a single room on the 3rd floor. The room was quiet and clean and I appreciated having a kitchenette. The complimentary breakfast is basic but considering the price point I didn't expect much and was fine with having an assortment of fresh fruit and select blends of teas. I don't drink...
