We recently spent a night at the Lenox to celebrate our anniversary. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Somehow the concierge desk was aware we were celebrating and had champagne on ice in the room when we arrived. Every Lenox Hotel employee from bellman to front desk to restaurant staff greeted us with a smile and...

Big shout out to the staff and accommodations at this superb hotel! Justin, Mike, and Peter at the door made us feel welcomed everyday. Sean at the valet desk was extremely helpful as well. Nate at the concierge desk planned our tour of the attractions ad sightseeing and gave us great tips on restaurants. The City Bar, City Table, and...

By far, one of the best Old World Hotels in Boston. The Solas Irish pub is on the ground floor, plus they have one of the most charming lobbies [especially around Christmas}. The Lenox offers wonderfully appointed rooms. We always opt for a Corner room that faces Boylston Street. { this is great when there are parades, like First Night}....

Room and food bland. Was refused alcohol on 2 separate occasions in the hotel bar, even though the barman ,new friends (not embarrassing at all), and myself all agreed I wasn't drunk, no slurring of words no being overly loud, 8.45pm. Asked for a wake up call at 6.20am. The day I was leaving along with some hotels gifts to...

What a great location - Boston is a very walkable city and the Lenox is convenient to anywhere you'd want to go. A real sense of old style service here. We had a wonderful corner room on the top floor - a great place to watch the snow storm. Very comfortable bed. We had multiple breakfasts and one dinner (on...

I took my boyfriend away in our home city for the weekend. He's been so busy at work that I thought it would be fun. Mission accomplished! We got a fireplace room and never left. Staff was very welcoming. Rooms were quiet and cozy. I wish I lived out of town so I could justify staying here whenever I come...

We had not stayed at the Lenox for awhile but booked a fireplace room for one night while in the Boston area. It was as great as we remembered - so nice to sit in front of a warm fire and staff Mike, Erin and Nate left us a complimentary bottle of wine w/2 glasses and a welcome note. It...

I stay here whenever I visit! Location is key. There's tons of restaurants and bars if you feel you've gone to the 3 offered in the hotel too much. Which you won't. The martinis at city bar are super cold, great service, food is Delish. City table is good if you want a little more of a dinner atmosphere. And...

This hotel is amazing for it's service quality. Although, it is very old fashioned. There is a fire place in every room that you can light. As you can see, there is a picture of a sculpture of a lion.

Long overdue review as I stayed at the Lenox back in late August/September 2016. It's a lovely boutique hotel in Back Bay and half a block away from Newbury Street. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to my room to find a complimentary bottle of wine with a customized card! Talk about awesome customer service. I never heard of...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
