So this must be one of the more unlikely 5 star reviews they have on here. I checked into the Boston Common Hotel on Wednesday for a conference. All went smoothly, until on Thursday while at the conference I received an email telling me that the heating system had an emergency problem, they had to close the hotel for the...

Looks like everything has been said about this hotel already. The location is awesome and that's why this hotel gets away with their poor rate vs quality ratio. If there's nothing else around when you need to be in this area it's probably marginally OK, but otherwise: no wifi in the room, seriously... it's 2017, the worst and cheapest backpacker...

Ive stayed here 4 years in a row for a dance competition across the street. The location is absolutely perfect! The front desk staff is very unfriendly & unhelpful with the exception of the Sunday morning desk clerk on 2/26/17. Rooms are ok for the price.

Older building with charm. Clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and answered our questions kindly. Easy and close walk to metro, Trinity Church, Boston Library, Old South Church and plenty of restaurants. Would stay again.

A great place for visitors, who want to go Boston on a budget. It is close to Copley Square, and Back Bay Station, is right around the corner. Conveniently located in Downtown Boston. Room was very nice. The staff was outstanding, and they were very knowledgeable about the city, and were very helpful.

Just around the corner from Back Bay Train Station and handy to everything in the center of Boston- Walk to Boston Common, the State House, Copley Square. A close connection to the Orange and green lines and the commuter rail. Rooms under $100 most anytime. The hotel is old and a bit shabby. The staff is helpful and the location...

A great stay in The Boston Common Hotel and Conference Center. Location is, as the name implies, a few blocks from Boston Common in Back Bay. Easy to take the light rail to the hotel for $2.10. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if we ever get...

Great Location! The room is what is expected reading the reviews, dated. The bed was very comfy and the hotel was quiet at night (6th floor). Staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. Would definitely visit again!

This hotel is very old and run down. Nothing seems to have been refurbished or redone in years. There was rust throughout the bathroom and the bathtub was severely chipped. One plus was that the heaters worked really well and i didn't have a problem with customer service. The biggest downer was there is no wifi! You can only get...

I booked this hotel for a one night stay, upon arriving I found the room to be in worse conditions than the pictures showed. The carpets were filthy and the bed was definitely not the Queen size I had requested. When I called down to the desk to request a room change I was rudely told there were no other...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
