Room was a nice blend of contemporary furniture and grand old appointments. Sleek desk and night stands provided lots of power outlets, USB ports and clock with iPhone connector. Outlets were also well positioned around the room. The wall were appointed with beautifully crafted molding that gave it a refined solid look. The room also blocked out noise given its...

Loews is in a financial area of Boston but everything you need like bars and shops and restaurants are no more than a 5 min walk away and there are 2 T lines (Orange - Back Bay) and (Green -Arlington) very close by. Upon arrival you are warmly greeted by Door staff and Reception. The rooms are a nice size...

A colleague and I stayed at Loews Boston hotel for 8 days. The hotel staff is very friendly and always helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. A fridge is provided which was very convenient, the bathroom was equipped with a towel heater, which just adds to the excellent experience. The location and quality of the hotel are very good...

The hop on -hop off trolley gets...

Loews fulfill their dependable brand in this Boston hotel. Rooms are not exciting and small, but work well. Staff are efficient and courteous. Coffee machines in the lobby area are a turn off. Restaurant is good but would recommend to try outside. Dependable for business, but lacks sophistication and finesse.

The hotel could not be more conveniently located, just five minutes from Back Bay Station and ten minutes from the Common and the best shopping and restaurants (including Bar 23 across the street and Post 360 - same owners - a block away). The lobby is off to the side of the main entrance and is really pleasant to relax...

We travel worldwide, but live just outside of Boston and so we know it well. We chose this pretty hotel to celebrate an anniversary weekend, because it is in a perfect location to experience the beautiful and upscale Back Bay area without the crowds and noise. Within a 2 min. walk you are in the expansive Copley Place/Prudential shopping and...

We enjoyed another great stay at a Loews property. They never disappoint. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful and clean. This was our first trip to Boston and I can't wait to come back. This will be our hotel of choice when we do return.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's not often that a hotel embodies all that a city stands for, but the Loews Boston is just that place. Housed in the stately limestone building that was once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, our recently renovated boutique property is-like the city of Boston itself-a unique and unforgettable blend of historic charm, urbane sophistication and authentic New England hospitality. Our exclusive Back Bay location, which is ideally situated between three of Boston's hottest neighborhoods-the South End, the Theater District and the Back Bay-puts you in the heart of all that Boston has to offer, with everything you want to see or experience, including the shopping on Newbury Street, just moments away. If you are in town for an event at one of Boston's many colleges and universities, we offer effortless access to the campuses of Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Emerson and Tufts Medical School, to name just a few. Our 225 spacious guestrooms, two luxury suites and an expansive Presidential Suite have been freshly renovated and bring you the ultimate in modern convenience and comfort. And our recently updated 1,024-square-foot Harrison Room-with its vaulted, 20-foot cathedral ceilings and crystal chandelier-is an unparalleled event space and the perfect location for your next intimate gathering. ... more   less
