Had a 3 day break in between my NYC 18 day stay. I was in NYC for the marathon. Wanted to see Boston in the Fall, and to feel the vibe as I'm interested in running the Boston Marathon. The Taj is beautiful I believe it's in the best location opposite The Common park. I had a double room both... More

Great hotel with perfect location, rooms, service and even the room service food is very good. Would totally stay here again when in Boston. We checked in late the night before Thanksgiving Day and one of our two rooms was upgraded to a gorgeous corner suite overlooking the Public Garden and Commonwealth.

Loved staying here. Our room was on the 4th floor, overlooking Newbury St. Good-sized room, very comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Great location. I would have loved to have stayed in a room with a fireplace! This time of year the rates are quite reasonable for Boston - not sure I could have afforded to stay here in high season,... More

As travel writers my husband and I have spent the last few years staying at a variety of 4 star hotels. We like to see what critics consider luxury places to stay. Most of the hotels were adequate, but there is a big difference between 4 star convention hotel, and 4star that cater to the individual. The Taj Hotel the... More

Beautiful hotel. Our room overlooked Christmas lit Newbury Street. The room was well appointed with a beautiful bathroom. We were treated well by a friendly, courteous staff who were very helpful. All the Back Bay has to offer is within walking distance. A fabulous hotel. I highly recommend staying here!

The hotel is next to a beautiful park and within walking distance across the park and Boston Common to the main sights. The hotel was quiet and very comfortable with all you would expect from this standard of hotel.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
