A very nice, efficient hotel ideally located at the foot of Newberry street and across from the Common. Quick walks to the Freedom Trail and great shopping and dining. Hotel staff is very accommodating and quick to help with all your needs. Definitely a keeper when in town.

The Taj was the perfect location for our weekend in Boston--close to the Arlington T stop and close to shopping and dining. Our rooms had spectacular views overlooking the park and one had a fireplace. The Fireplace Butler Service was fantastic. We had different types of wood to choose from, each with different burn times, and the fire was built...

Dear WAOM: Despite the hiccup at check-in we were delighted to hear that there were so many aspects of your stay with us that you enjoyed and especially your room with the fireplace overlooking the beautiful snow blanketed Public Garden. We look forward to warming you again on another snowy weekend at Taj Boston. Carlos Bueno General Manager carlos.bueno@tajhotels.com

We spent the New Year weekend (2 nights). It is an old institution, with a cosy bar over looking the Boston Commons, comfortable rooms with either park or city view and many places of interest within walking distance. We walked to MFA and Boston Public Library for concert. The help from Sarah, the Concierge was invaluable! The morning complementary coffee...

Quality hotel located across road from Boston Common which is "nearly" as good as St Stephen's Green... Lovely park which at this time of year turns into an ice skating rink at the Frog Pond. All the local shops are the other side of the Common. Witnessed an amazing firewoks display in Boston Common on New Years Eve and it...

Dear Frank196507: We agree that ours is quite a fine hotel with the best address that Boston has to offer. You must return in the spring to see how well our beautiful Public Garden compares to St. Stephen's Green. We look forward to welcoming you back to Taj Boston again soon. We stay at the Taj as often as we are in Boston. It's location on the park and common, near great shopping and restaurants on Newbury and Boylston streets is perfect. The view from the rooms is splendid. The hotel is the only one in working fireplaces in many rooms - with free butler service. The staff is cordial. The...

Oh Taj Boston, my husband and I desperately wanted to love our recent babymoon staycation with you but sadly you fell short in every possible way. My husband and I decided to book a last minute stay at the Taj Boston over New Years. Our only criteria when booking a hotel was to have a fire place in the room...

For New Year's Eve, we booked a room on the Taj website with a choice of king-sized bed or 2 doubles. I put king size in the message line. They called me and said that there were only rooms with 2 queen sized beds available. I said OK and asked if here was a coffee maker in the room. They...

Great location and views and we will be back on 2017 ! This was our second year celebrating the New Year at the Taj Boston. We upgraded this year to a room with a fireplace which was wonderful! We were very happy with all that the Taj had to offer to make us want to return next year!

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
