This hostel is so nice! Free earplugs! Great TV room, staff are young and homey. Free breakfast, you make pancakes, they provide everything. Wash your clothes, no prob. Big bathrooms. Fire pit, hamocks to lay in outside. You are inside and outside all inside a bldg. Stores, food, restaurants all close. Library half block away. Bus very close to take...

I loved this hostel! Beds were very comfortable, rooms had enough space, big lockers. Lots of power outlets for each bed. Staff was very nice and helpful, clean hostel. Free breakfast, but I was told there would also be bagels, but there weren't, there's fruit though, oatmeal (which I don't eat) and some sweet stuff. Really relaxed hostel! Only thing...

Well-run hostel - great inner courtyard, super-comfortable beds, super clean, environmentally friendly, staff friendly and helpful, good kitchen with plenty of quality eating and cooking ware. great vibe. Would recommend. On the downside, beds could use reading lights (plenty of outlets on beds) - and the fan in the downstairs unisex bathroom needs to be fixed - I was in...

Thanks so much for your wonderful and helpful comments. I am so sorry about the bathroom fan and the light being turned on. I will reinforce this common sense light rule with staff and we have added a timer to the fan so it doesn't get left on. It is scheduled to be replaced soon. We just have to wait...

My partner and I went here for a surfing trip, and were very pleased with our decision! The facilities were clean and there was a very large kitchen that was great for cooking and socializing. Also, the staff was amazing and incredibly helpful! Affordable, and overall a great deal.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in a private room, and our 4 friends stayed in other rooms for about a week. We LOVED our stay. Perfect distance from everything - Ocean Beach, the zoo, good food, etc. The bathrooms were awesome for a hostel, and the whole place was cool. Hammocks, ping pong, a big communal space! Staff was awesome...

I stayed at this hostel years ago while traveling with 2 teenage daughters. Now I came back as a solo traveler and it is still a great place to stay. Place was clean, rooms were clean. Really nice kitchen facility. I showed up without a reservation and got a top bunk, but no big deal. I had to do laundry...

Point Loma was a pleasant surprise after checking out several hostels on the beach that were filled with party type people. As i prefer a quiet easy going atmosphere, i ended up staying 3 nights instead of just one. Very clean, with a nice out door patio for morning coffee (they make the best organic coffee) and socializing. Also a...

The downtown location is great for all the activities associated with nightlife. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the parking garage near HI was reasonably priced and across the street. The bldg itself was clean, quiet and beautifully decorated. The room was nicely maintained and so was the private bathroom. We were facing a very busy street so...

The hostel is located in a quaint neighborhood near a grocery store and some restaurants. The outside of the hostel is very much like a beach community and is very secure. I'm thinking I liked the most about the hostel were the other guests that we socialized with. Many of the guests were from Germany. I was able to get...
